Thanks! Oddly enough, according to other forums, Safari is the one browser that does work. I don't have a Mac (should I get one?), but I suppose I could try it on my iPad. Not sure I'll bother though, because a tablet is never going to be the way I watch any of these movies.

On the VHX Roku app, I get a brief loading screen before being booted back to the menu.

On my web browser, I get an inaccurate screen that says, "Sorry, this video cannot be played while your device is connected to this external monitor" (it isn't).

Mikey and Nicky played flawlessly on the Roku VHX app last week.
It plays great on my MacBook with Mojave 10.14.3, but my Roku behaved the same way you described.

No. You can probably buy a pretty high-end blu-ray player and a nice regular PC for what a Mac costs. Might even have a penny or two left over to buy a blu-ray with.

As to whether someone should get a Mac or not, I feel bad answering that question since I'm an Apple shareholder. I have a bias.

I will say this, though: In the ... jeez, how long has it been? A LOT of years that I've owned one, I've been happy with mine. Whether you would be or not, I don't know and can't say.

Believe last year was 13th, and 28th year before. Gonna say tomorrow or 19th are most likely

It's often done around their biggest release of the month. So in 2017, that was for The Before Trilogy which came out the 28th, and last year for Silence of the Lambs, and Night of the Living Dead which came out the 13th. I'd say Berlin Alexanderplatz is their biggest release of the month, and it comes out tomorow, so I would say that's most likely

I am seeing Roma pop up in a few places as a rumored release, is there any truth to this?

This would most likely be the biggest release of the year (maybe the last several years) due to the implications of any kind of Netflix/Criterion deal.

Just rumors, mostly based on people's strong wishes for it to happen (myself included). Someone recently visited Criterion and among the things he mentioned, he said he talked to Peter Becker about Roma, but that could just be them talking about a movie.

Here's the post it's mentioned. The big news there was for Blue Velvet, and possibly also implying an upgrade of Withnail and I:

(Still think it's a pity how WB hasn't done much with their silents considering The Big Parade and The Jazz Singer both look incredible on Blu-ray)
Has there been an indication that WA are releasing The Crowd and The Wind?!

Roma was aquired by Netflix from the festival circuit (rather than being produced in-house), so it's possible home media rights were part of the contract that was drawn up. Most importantly, it would mean nothing for future Criterion/Netflix releases.

Pre-Criterion flash sale question:

Love Streams or Short Cuts? (I have a few Altmans and zero John Cs.)

No. They haven't seen a release since the LaserDisc days. It's criminal that those two, Greed, A Woman of Affairs, and The Cameraman aren't on BluRay. Hopefully, Criterion can change that.

The guy who visited also said Criterion will “most likely” release Roma.

Take your pick, but 2nd (twice) and 4th (4 times) Tuesdays in February have been the most common.

Big Release -- it was originally a slam dunk that Berlin Alex would be the key item, then betting line moved to the Bergman Collection when they had it listing 2/26 re-release/preorder -- now ??

It used to be the website would go down the night before, but they quit that.

USUALLY the items in the cart go from shipping the next day to shipping in 3 business days (no movement yet) though I did notice Berlin Alexanderplatz was listed as In-stock and no longer as a Preorder earlier today. I'd check the site early on Tuesday morning to see what is happening with the 3 Day label. I don't look at the site enough to know if that's unusual on Monday prerelease or not, but suspicious if it's unusual.

Thought I'd ask: Why are UK Criterions Region Locked B even though they are releases of what we have in the States? Arrow doesn't do that.

I think I'm going to go a little gonzo in the month's flash sale. I also want to focus on stuff I haven't seen, or unfamiliar with, or fill voids in my collection.

So far I'm up to:

Bitter Rice (Which I could have SWORN I already owned but apparently not!)

Certain Women

The Color of Pomegranates

Cul de Sac

John Cassavetes: Five Films

Trilogía de Guillermo del Toro

Naked

24 Frames

El Sur

We'll see about anything else that I need to add!
