Well, from what I remember during my webcam "chats" with CG, his hair is more on the blonde side. He always kept the lights dimmed, though, so I couldn't really see too much. Plus, the camera was only on his face about 20% of the time, so...

With too much now said, I'm guessing his mother's hair is more on the blonde side.

Down By Law is my favorite in the Collection and, actually, the two you mentioned that aren't CC'd are my two favorites as well. I could watch Coffee And Cigarettes every single day, I think.

But yeah, agreed about his dialouge. Really is what always keeps me going back. Insane rewatchability for just about all his flicks.
Agreed on Coffee And Cigarettes...love that scene with Tom Waits and Iggy Pop...I never knew his real first name was James.

Yeah, I've always thought that if I ever end up having a child, particularly a son, I would name him Iggy, yet call him James.

Yes, but ladies of Raylene's occupation often dye their hair...

Sadly, she is only 33, so (for her sake) it's highly doubtful...unless CassavetesGodard is something like 12 years old...

Hey wait, this IS looking promising after all...

I'd say so!!! Heck, I'm only 32 and CG recently turned 23, which really helps define our current relationship. I'd have to turn down this Raylene woman, though, for the sheer fact that I'm solely devoted to CG's mother at this point.

If I ever met Raylene, I would have to make her put a paper bag over her head with a question mark on it, and a name take that says "HELLO I'M CassavetesGodard's Mom". I want my $1800/hour to be WORTH IT.

Also, I nominate myself for most constructive poster in the Criterion Collection Discussion thread (Timeframe: November 1, 2010-November 2, 2010).

I'm excited as a newcomer to the site in general to see how this thread works when people are just talking about and recommending the movies to watch and why, instead of what was and continues to be bought.

She isn't in her 30s and she doesn't have blonde hair.

50% off sale. Now the biggest problem will be what to get.

Hey Bresson fans, A Man Escaped is finally (and sneakily) out on Blu-ray from Gaumont in France after being mysteriously pulled from its May 2010 release date. Note that there is no confirmation of English subtitles, but the DVD which released in May 2010 apparently had them.

Saw the Blu-ray of Paths of Glory today, and it truly is an incredible film. It's funny that with every Kubrick movie I watch, that one becomes the favorite. I honestly believe he didn't make an awful movie, although I haven't seen Fear and Desire yet.
The actors are amazing in it, the camerawork is spectacular (as is the case with every of Stanley Kubrick's movies) and this BD makes it shine like it should. I'm happy MGM licensed these to Criterion, otherwise we probably would never have seen it on Blu.

Please tell me that, either...

A) user SpielbergsBay is user CassavetesGodard in disguise

B) user SpielbergsBay is user CassavetesGodard's complete opposites twin brother

C) user SpielbergsBay is neither A or B, but instead just a nice new addition to our happy family
