I got the code in an email back in January after I had signed up to be a charter subscriber. I had to remember not to delete that email and used the code at checkout.

Well, damn. I never got that e-mail. I reached out to them just to confirm the situation. If I don't get it, i won't be too bothered, but now it's just a genuine curiosity haha. Thanks for the info!

After a lot of sifting through my wish list, I accomplished quite a lot of what I wanted to do. I upgraded three of my most beloved films to Criterions, Some Like it Hot, Notorious and In The Heat of the Night. Doing so supports Criterion's business model, helping to fund other projects we all want, while giving me an improved release with better picture and audio quality, as well as a bunch of extras not on the first release. Finally, I can donate my first copies to my local library, so other budding film lovers can watch them.

I also expanded my collection by adding films from directors I've never owned-Jim Jarmusch, Mikhail Kalatozov, Rene Clair and Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Then, collections of five filmmakers I have profound respect for got a big boost: Howard Hawks, Josef von Sternberg, David Lean, Charlie Chaplin and Cristian Mungiu.

I'm only $320 to my next gift certificate, so I could conceivably hit that on the next Flash sale. And, I cleared up a bunch of space on my DVR. Victory!!

I'm probably going to get to see Notorious on film in a few weeks, so I was going to hold off, but then I remembered how disappointed I was when I saw Pickpocket on film a few weeks ago and got home excited to watch the extras, only to discover that it's the only Bresson BD I don't have! Decided I better not let that happen again...

If you cancel an order where you had used a promo code, how long does it take for the code to be usable again? I had forgotten I placed a pre-order several months ago using a $10 off code. I canceled that order so I could use the code today, but when I try to use it on my new order it says it's already been used even though I canceled the old order.

Yes I got the reward cert on Jan 1 titled "A gift certificate for you."

I don't know if it was limited to the 1st # to add their name to the "I'm interested" list back in Sept or Oct, it was for people who weren't part of the older streaming service, had a history of Criterion.com purchases, or if if was random. It's possible some people's reward emails got filtered by an aggressive spam main filter given the title of the mail
