Europa Europa is a film I've been meaning to see since forever, but never managed to snag a copy of the DVD. Very glad it was announced today. My pick of the month.

Also, is 1984 the first Criterion release of an Out of Print Twilight Time Title? Not sure how I feel about notion that since I own a decent number of OOP TTs, but I'll take it in this case because I never bothered to upgrade my DVD copy.

Edit : Unbelievably great month btw...

Put me down for Klute and Do the Right Thing for sure.

I'll have to get a closer look at how the Criterion Blu-ray of 1984 stacks up to the Twilight Time one that I already own.

Been wanting to see Klute for a while now so I will definitely be checking that out if not just doing a very rare blind buy. I'm not a fan of Spike Lee's films (from the ones I've seen anyways besides Summer of Sam) and frankly I detest the guy, which I won't get into, but Do the right thing looks like it might be worth checking out.

? If so, then it's the same film. The release title in France was La vie d'Adele Chapitre 1 & 2.
Thanks. It just seemed weird to only state chapter 1 in the credits but not 2 as Criterion and French title show when writing the movie title. As you said it's the complete film because it showed that ending. I always felt I was missing out on something by being incomplete as it seemed.

Also is the 1984 the one that came out in 1984? I've got that on LaserDisc and would love an upgrade

I'll take the lot.

So happy about BRD. I've nearly bought the OOP set so many times.

I’ve always been fascinated by the long OOP BRD Trilogy so I’ll take advantage of this Blu-Ray release.

There's nothing that I have to get Day 1. But I will most likely try to pick up the BRD Trilogy during a sale. Probably also get The Baker's Wife.

The website states it's a new 4K restoration supervised by Deakins, so we'll see if there's much improvement. Also no mention of which score they will use. I was going to assume it would be the original Muldowney score, but it seems the 'official' Eurythmics version is the most widespread so I guess it will be that one? I don't see myself parting with my TT disc.

Now this is one helluva month! Especially pleased to see the terrific EUROPA EUROPA announced as I can finally upgrade my MGM DVD; an amazing story (all the more so for being true) with excellent performances
[Show spoiler]a very young Julie Delpy is rather terrifying in this

I first became aware of The Baker's Wife in the book 1001 Films You Must See.
The write up sounded great to me and I made it a point to keep my eyes open for it, if it should ever be made available.

Looking forward to picking that one up in the sale.

Everything else is a lower priority for me and easily put off till the November sale. The one possible exception is Klute, which I wouldn't mind seeing sooner than later.

Is that really considered a spoiler nowadays?
