Another great month for Criterion. Definitely getting the Ozu, and I'm interested in Magnificent Obsession too. I'm holding out for a Kiarostami set, so I'll hold off on the Koker trilogy for now.

Yeah, I'm a little nervous. I'm still in possession of a copy of THE VIRGIN SPRING I bought the day before the Bergman box was announced. That I had stupidly opened.

Very surprised that Polyester wasn’t announced. Pretty good month though.

Oh look, another month where Come and See isn't announced. Ag.

Other than that, a damn fine month. The Koker Trilogy is a must. So happy to finally get another Japanese title added to the catalog. Just wish there was a Kurosawa release as well. Incredibly happy for An Angel At My Table getting an upgrade.

No, they currently have The Koker Trilogy Box as #991 and the individual titles as #990-992 rather than #991-993. An obvious type that will eventually get fixed.

Looks like wiki is wrong, it is III not II. I couldn't remember which one it was and trusted wiki too much...

I'll probably check out the Ozu film eventually, but a pretty dry month.

The Ozu, the Kiarostami trilogy, and the Sirk for me. All blind-buys. Stellar month.

Edit: forgot about the Campion, wow.

I think Bamboozled is the only NYD clue left...that we know of at least. There might be some other stuff speculated like with the guys carrying the babies which some think could be Children of Men.

Was the Ozu one on the Channel? I'll defiantly get it since I've never seen it and love Ozu

I guess it's dry for some, but a lineup that includes seven films from the likes of Kiarostami, Ozu, Sirk and Campion would seem irreproachable to most I think.

Definitely in for the Sirk and the Ozu. Have to admit to not knowing the first thing about Kiarostami - other than he is highly regarded by many around these parts. So maybe I'll check him out sometime down the road.

I'm intrigued by The Inland Sea - but the price does seem high, as others have already mentioned. Even at 50% off, there are more compelling Criterion blind-buys than a 56-minute documentary. Again, maybe eventually.

I am also very intrigued by The Inland Sea. Here is their website's preview, if you scroll down to the bottom:

How beautiful is that!

And it's already on The Criterion Channel, which is a nice surprise.
