Criterion hasn't put out much in the last year that I've wanted to get, I'll probably have to go through and see what I neglected to get in the past if I get anything during this sale.

It would be nice if Criterion can pick up Chasing Amy again. I re-watch it on Netflix and it barely looked better than a DVD. Both Chasing Amy and Dogma need new HD remasters.

Yeah I've got the Canadian Blu-ray and it looks kind of strange looking. At least I only paid 2 bucks for it.

Dogma looks pretty good IMO. Now Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back needs a new master. Desperately. That is the worst looking blu ray I have ever seen. It's no better than a dvd and that's not hyperbole.

Yeah Dogma looks good. Heard the same thing about Jay and Silent Bob looking bad.

It looks so good that you have to shell out 50 or so dollars for it.

I know I'd get it if I didn't already own it. At any rate the same master could be used for a repressing and I'd still be good with it.

Saw a pristine copy of the Bergman set in BN today so I put it on hold for Friday. Better than taking my luck with shipping quality.

Whoever runs Criterion should give this a watch/spin and reconsider who buys their B&W films.

I’m a big fan of Argentine cinema, but I couldn’t get into this at all. Glad I didn’t blind buy it.

Really? What did you dislike about it?

I liked the implication one is left with of the ending.

It just felt like it was going nowhere, and I gave up. Maybe I was in the wrong mood for it.

Brazil The booklet case

Just me , or anyone else bother by this thin "booklet"that it's standard now for criterion. I remember that old booklets , it was so more consistent with a boutique label like CC and added so valour to the item for the collection....... IMHO

I honestly don't even know why they use digi packaging. It's the worst. Every time I pick one up it is smashed in. Took me so long to find a copy of Moonrise Kingdom that was just ok...
