Blow Out makes sense based on the clue. What a great addition to the collection if it is true. I've been hoping for more Depalma from Criterion and Blow Out is one of his best.

Yeah, acquiring those OOP Criterion blus are always a bit of an adventure. Luckily, even though I only started collecting during the summer, I was wise to the OOP factor (thanks to reading this thread) and scored both The Man Who Fell To Earth and Pierrot le Fou for ~$20 on ebay. It took some effort, but ended up finding The Third Man for ~$55 on ebay... which is only a bit above new price. And certainly worth the difference between the Criterion version and the Studio Cannal version.

OOP Criterion blus are funnnnn....

Borders stores seem to have decent stock of Pierrot le Fou still around as I picked it a couple days ago from my closest store and others in the area show it in stock.

They might think they are actually getting the actual blu's, not just the slips.

So I just bought a clear glue-in cd tray from ebay which I plan to attach to the left side of a Criterion case to make it a double-disc case. This will finally solve my Benjamin Button case dilemma.

oh man, I would pay good GOOD money for that. Yeah, I'd be double-dipping, but it would be oh-so worth it!

I just used a Criterion cover and a white CD-sized pouch/envelope thingy that I got with some PC software...or an older Digital Copy...forget which.

The pouch slides under the clips, and I put the book over it. Works just fine.

Let us know how that works for ya!

Good to hear. I hope it works out well.

Speaking of cases... is there anyone that would be interested in chipping-in to buy some of the clear or grey Scanavo single-disc DVD cases that Criterion uses? I found one company online that sells them but only in lots of 100. Obviously, I don't need that many. Heck, I probably only need about 10 of each color.

It's $39 + $17.xx shipping for (100) clear Scanavo DVD cases.

It's $37 + $17.xx shipping for (100) grey Scanavo DVD cases.

Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else is interested.

I've actually gone on their thread every now and then just to hear people whine and complain and brag (I know, we do that here too) about cardboard. They buy movies JUST for the sake of having a slip...then if they don't get a slip on a particular movie, they hunt it down and pay a crap load of money for it!

I know I will buy CC films just because, but heck, at least they have their own merit to stand on.

But, if you're an a-hole who would even want to take the time to get to know you?

For what will you be needing these things?

I will only participate if I like your answer.
