This is only for the dual format edition and not the Blu only release.

Yep, sorry. Should've been more specific.

The Barnes & Noble Criterion sales are typically in July and November. The July 2019 sale just started today, and per our guru of all things Criterion sales, Hariseldon, the sale runs through the end of business day August 4th. That's in store, and online. 50% off of MSRP.
Keep in mind, though, that Barnes and Noble has recently been sold. This could be the last of the B&N Criterion 50% off sales.

As soon as that code goes live, it’s a free for all. I have my list on my desktop pc flat screen monitor, complete with alternates, and I fill my order on my laptop. Then, I try to forget for the next 23 hours that it’s still going on, so I won’t buy any more.

This next Flash sale is going to put a hurting on my wallet. I’ve already earmarked $150 for the Bergman box set, and that’s just to start. God help me if they do something astonishing with spine #1,000. I want the Olympic set, too, because the history of the Games holds tremendous appeal to me. Plus, I really want to invest more heavily in documentary filmmaking. As great as theatrical releases are, entertainment-wise, when I hold a release like Shoah, Night and Fog, or The Thin Blue Line in my hand, I’m reminded, once again, of the power of the camera. This art form can accomplish so much good. It can take an unspeakable tragedy like the Holocaust, and document interviews with survivors, so future generations can see the very real faces of what happened. It becomes more personal, and less abstract, when you see firsthand how these poor men and women were affected.
So true...now you've got me thinking of a few more titles to buy...lol ;-)

Yup, I saw that mentioned.

When I got to the second store today, there were a few people in the movie section with an armful of Criterions. One guy had like ten, and I thought to myself, "great, he probably took all the ones I wanted." I have to think that these sales bring in a good deal of revenue for B&N. They can't do away with them, can they?

Even if they want to take the movies out of the stores completely, which would suck....shipping from the warehouse would still be a worthwhile endeavor for them.

I have to hope that's their thinking.

I think....I think I can be good until Klute comes out. I really want that one. And even though I have the Twilight Time of 1984, a film that I love, I want the Criterion. The interviews, behind the scenes extras, and the critical essay-I'm looking forward to those, quite a lot.

I'm going to start working on getting all the Kubrick films Criterion has released. I grabbed Dr. Strangelove today, The Killing is next.

I also want all of Daniel Day-Lewis' Criterions.

Apparently they are aware of the problem affecting orders to Canadian customers and are working to resolve this.

Their suggestion is to try again tomorrow.

Anyone hear of a website called Costerol.com? I stumbled across it and they have Police Story/Police Story 2 and War and Peace criterion blu rays for $18.99 each. Seems to good to be true(?) and free shipping....

I want 1984 and Klute, as well. My current wishlist leans toward the older foreign films. My collection is woefully light on those right now.

I took a risk, too. Ordered the Zatoichi set. I paid with PayPal, so I figure could work with them if there’s an issue.

Hadn't been on this thread in quite a while, but of course when I decide to check it out I "stumble into a B&N sale week" so of course I ran out to my local store, and of course I had to buy something (picked up Blue Velvet and In The Heat of the Night), of course ... In all seriousness, I had forgotten this sale was imminent so my cash reserves weren't what I would have preferred but I'm definitely happy I got those two! May still look to grab Wages of Fear, Blow Up, Notorious and waaaaaay too many more...

I placed an order for 14 titles this morning and I've already received a shipping notification (for all except Klute) and a scheduled delivery for Monday. That's pretty good.

I elected to FINALLY upgrade Night and the City, but minimal research reaffirmed my hesitancy all these years...sounds like the BFI just edition just piledrives it into concrete (despite the Criterion's edge in poster art.)

Not even region-free (atm), but I'm not sure I can live with it.
