You just perfectly described my issue. Between TCM and baseball, I buy all these blu-rays, and they sit there waiting to be watched. I'll get to them all, eventually, but when MLB Extra Innings does a free showcase, my Brewers, Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger....they take precedence. And my DVR is filled with at least 100 movies I have yet to watch. My back issues compound matters, because some days I just don't feel good enough to really watch anything with any great attention.

It's kind of a fun problem to have, though. Knowing I never lack for things to watch. Plus, my tv shows keep me very busy. Game of Thrones is done, but I am a Billions addict, and The Handmaid's Tale just started up season three. I'm on season three of Outlander, as well, and watching the only reality shows I actually enjoy, Deadliest Catch, Top Chef and The Great Food Truck Race. And, I need to get back to Vikings...

I need a year just to get caught up on everything, and more is always coming in, haha.

If I had the Olympics set, I probably wouldn't watch anything else for a month. I would hardly consider a historical collection of the greatest international sporting competitions useless. I will own it, and it will take up a treasured spot in my collection. There's just a hell of a lot of other things I need to buy first.

And I would love to own the Godzilla set. I've got an open mind, and love to be exposed to new things. I've only started to really get into horror films in the last year, and watched my first Hammer Studio release less than six months ago. I'm totally addicted.

If you don't like something, that's completely your right. But calling something you don't see the value in "useless" is really a slight to those who own it, or will own it.

The olympics set is a chore to watch but its in the top 10 releases i think criterion has put out. Also the Godzilla set will in that list as well

Unfortunately I don’t have any kids.

I do have three nephews though.

I might be convinced to turn over the youngest one, Henry.

He’s a little strange.

...i think he might be a sociopath.

Does Janus have the Hanzo trilogy? A friend borrowed my HVE(?) set years ago, IIRC it has Janus logos.

After reading pages and pages of this thread guessing that Toho was going to be at Comic-Con to announce the Godzilla box set, no such announcement was made, with the box being leaked on a retailer web site. So, I 've got to know- why the heck was Toho at the con? Did they actually make any interesting announcements, or show anything worthwhile?

They were there to promote the franchise's 65th anniversary, and showcase a few exclusive figures in partnership with other companies (their booth was actually with Bandai). They had a few cool things around their booth, like a live painting from a famous Japanese artist, and other stuff.

Amazon is trying its best to approximate the B&N Criterion sale by discounting some titles down to $22.99. I wonder if I should just grab the ones I need from Amazon since I have Prime. I don't remember if B&N even charges tax -do they?

$3 Criterion at Walmart. I thought my best savings on Criterion was Zatoichi box at Barnes and Noble at 60% off, but this just takes the cake.

They charge tax in most states, only a few they don't. Barnes and Noble is still the better deal if they have what you want in stock and you spend the spend $35.00 to get free shipping. (free for members at any price)

Must have been in store and probably a return that was marked for liquidation. Only $59.29 online!
