WKW, Kurosawa, Fellini... that’s a lot of box sets in 2020

I think people look into the supplements thing too much. There are few releases with minimal to no supplements. And fans of the work would expect that and wouldn’t care if they released a nice box set with just the films

I don’t think if it would happen but I wish it would. The work is deserving. probably comes down to whether or not they want the publicity Allen’s name would bring. Twilight Time is small and they wouldn’t get the same attention as CC
Probably been said before, but there are the three Arrow UK box sets which cover 19 films from the first part of Allen's career - and they're often available cheaply, sometimes even as cheap as a single Criterion release. Go region free!

My hopes for the next announcements never change:
  • A Canterbury Tale
  • Come and See
  • Stray Dog

The reason a lot of Allen's 90s/00s films are not on BD is because most of them are with Miramax/Lionsgate or DreamWorks/Paramount, which makes them unlikely to be licensed to Criterion. The exceptions are Deconstructing Harry, which is with Warner, and Melinda and Melinda, which is with Fox/Disney.

I am always hoping for more Scorsese, Pasolini, and Bertolucci.

"The Tenant" would be great.

Likely won't get any of those, LOL.

Yeah I get that it’s not likely—it’s just a shame that many of his films are hard to get, should be available, and his work is definitely worthy of being represented in the collection

A finer North American release of Betty Blue would be pretty nice.

Let's hope so. One of my most anticipated upgrades - even though I have the MGM set.

Someone else already mentioned an upgrade of A Canterbury Tale, which will be most welcome.

I DO hope they actually do the announcement today.

There is no "Godzilla" / Spine 1000 announcement this month, and there was no national holiday this week.

Hoping late this afternoon we actually get the announcement, this time.

Has there been any word of Criterion planning a release of Lewis Milestone's Of Mice and Men? Only it has just been added to Kanopy, and though it's now harder for non-subscribers to see under what banner the films have been added (Kino Lorber, Cohen Media, Janus Films/Criterion, etc), inspecting the element reveals Janus Films and Criterion Collection among the keywords (as it would with other known Criterion titles). Of course this provides no guarantee of a Blu-ray release, but fingers crossed.

The listing at Corinth Films confirms it's with Janus Films: http://corinthfilms.com/films/of-mice-and-men/

Surely a Criterion Blu is forthcoming?

I hope so. I've been waiting on a Blu for years.

Other Side of the Wind (hopefully UHD since I believe it is on Netflix as such)
After Hours (maybe...someday...?)

and other stuff too (woo woo-woo woo)

I've still got my DVD, but I definitely want to see that (and Wuthering Heights) get a Blu Ray upgrade. That The Heiress was upgraded earlier gives me hopes for other William Wyler films.
