Just in under the wire. It appear 9-10 minutes was about the limit -- not bad for their sale.

Website crashed right when I went to add the first movie to my cart.

Got in 2 orders so far.

First order I used the recent $10 gift certificate courtesy of the Criterion Channel, then noticed I also had a $5 credit waiting to be used as well, so I used that too.

Second order I used the $50 gift certificate that showed up last flash sale but by the time I noticed it it was too late to use it then.

Then yet another $50 gift certificate showed up (quite unexpectedly) in my email just before the site crashed.

Then the site crashed.

One more order still to place, with that new gift certificate.

This sale is going to be a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to be.

Now just waiting on the site to arise from its ashes.

The worst thing about submitting an order right after the sale starts is having nearly 24 hours more to fight off the urge to place another order.

Like many of you, I'm sure, I always use a credit card to pay for significant purchases online, and then just cover it immediately via transfer from my bank account.

But then a little battle ensues, reminiscent of that scene in Animal House with the little Devil, and the little Angel, on both shoulders.



"Hey, you get paid next week. What would three more movies hurt? Or four. Four more is even better. You've been a good boy. You've been responsible. You're not going to have to live on Ramen noodles if you get only four more. Or, how about five? Five is just a C Note. One little piece of green paper. Don't be a wimp. Get in there and order five more!"
