Time to be a broken record and say the main thing I want to see tomorrow, presuming it’s announcement day, is Elem Klimov’s COME AND SEE. There’s some other stuff I’d like to see but that’s my main want.

I don't have the funds at the moment, so I'll just wait for the B&N sale.

Glad I set my alarm today, even though the site was broken for awhile, but good times comin up:

[Show spoiler]

Skipped the February sale so haven't bought any CCs in awhile. My wish list is still large but I'm TV shopping, so I had to pare it down.

Magnificent Obsession, Klute, and Videodrome are blind buys, really looking forward to seeing these. Sisters upgrading the CC DVD, and I actually haven't seen TMWKTM from the Hitchcock set, the others are upgrades. 39 Steps is one of my favorite Hitchcocks.

Next sale for sure I'll nab Three Colors Trilogy, haven't seen those since the 90s and been itching for more Kielslowski after watching Dekalog.

Thanks for the heads-up about the sale. I never got an email about it.
I only found 2 I wanted but bought 3 to get free shipping. They'll sit on my shelf with my other thousand discs, unopened and unwatched, until I'm stuck in my house for a few months with nothing else to do, but I can't resist a bargain Collecting movies is an obsession with me. I never have time to actually see them.
This month I also spent $6,0000 on AV equipment when my 2 year old Onkyo receiver died. Now I have 13 speakers, 2 Blu-ray players (1 with Dolby Vision (DV)), a 65" OLED TV to replace my plasma, and a 4K DV & Atmos streaming box.
From Criterion I bought Godzilla (I thought I already had it but couldn't find it or any order for it, and the upcoming collection is too expensive for someone who's only a casual fan). I also got Circus with Chaplin as I have the other Criterion Chaplin films (as yet still sealed), and for the third film to get free shipping I decided on La Belle et la Bête (Beauty & the Beast).

PM me if anyone wants a $25 gift certificate and a $10 code for a total of $30-- a $5 savings. I can confirm they can be stacked in the same order. And the $10 will indeed work if you previously used one in another order.

Well if you ever watch Beauty and the Beast and don't like it I'll take it off your hands. It almost made it into my cart today, been too long since I've seen it.

Same goes for the OLED.

Just realized that Häxan is not only the first silent film in my collection, its also the oldest film I own to date.

It turns 100 in three years.

In a box with paper or bubble packing.

Get Passion of Joan of Arc as your second. It’s a damn good film that I even got my mom to watch and she was captivated the whole time. (If you do get it, I recommend watching in 24fps and with the Voices of Light score)

Sturdy cardboard packaging. I've never got a bubble mailer from them.

Not very well, to be completely honest. I love the company, so I don’t like to be negative, but my experience with packaging has been poor. Everything is loosely put together in a box (no bubble wrap in my case) and allowed to bop around freely. It may depend on who packs it so you might get luckier than I’ve been. Most of the digipaks and slip cases I ordered were damaged in my last two orders. The positive was criterion replaced them quickly and without issue. If you are only ordering scanavo cases you should be ok. Basically they don’t pack any better than amazon from my personal experience, but they will happily replace damaged artwork and cases and then it usually arrives in good condition.

Mine have never come like that, unfortunately for me. Maybe it depends on how large your order is. For large orders they have put mine in an oversized box and everything moves around freely. In my experiences at least.

Yeah, due to the high cost of shipping them to Brazil (I need to use a forwarding service) and the risk of paying import fees, I never buy more than two or three at a time.

Just love the Lubitsch musical set. They really are wonderful movies (also helps that I adored Jeanette MacDonald and the rest of the major cast members beforehand)!

When it comes to the oldest movie (excluding the Oz films that are included in the Collector's edition (DVD only) of The Wizard of Oz), then it's Intolerance. Blu Ray wise, that honor goes to The Passion of Joan of Arc.

Just ordered 5 titles...my biggest haul in 2 years.

2 of these are blind-buys and only because I was very interested after watching the trailers and reading the content of both films. Can you guess which 2 of mine are blind-buys? Winner gets a free dvd from my movie collection.
