I placed my first order at 12:05 ET yesterday, right after it started. That was order #1712405. I just paid for my second order, #1743087.

In roughly 24 hours, Criterion's website has processed 30,682 orders and counting with just under two hours to go.

Hopefully we start seeing some of these rumored Netflix films. Also, really hoping we get a Japanese film upgrade or new title. Kurosawa is long overdue for release.

I have a hunch that Holiday (1938) is going to get announced today.

I would love to see a Kurosawa Box Set like Bergman’s. I’ve held off getting any Kurosawa films in case it gets announced (which means I’ve been resisting the urge to get the fantastic Studio Canal Ran Remastered release).

I keep holding out for that and a similarly Wong Kar-wai Director set!

That next certificate is so close. I'm starting to covet it like Smeagol in The Lord of the Rings.

I'm probably one of those weird-os who is sitting out the flash sale and just opting for the B&N sale. I.only wanna get two titles: Hitchcock's The Lodger and Magnificent Obsession.
Unless I change my mind and spring for The Heiress and Now Voyager- my Nov haul isnt as heavy this time

I highly recommend The Heiress. Three great performances and it may be my favorite William Wyler film.

If not for January, I reckon it'll be within the first 5 months of 2020. I reckon it might be on 4K UHD as well...

I have never seen The Heiress before! And I keep hearing that from everyone! No one has said a bad word about it so I'm super tempted! I have seen Now Voyager- and maybe I need to give it a second look- I wasnt totally crazy about it the first time but it had great performances

I've bought most of the Kurosawa DVDs except for Red Beard, but I would joyfully upgrade them all to Blu with a Kurosawa box!

If I'm remembering correctly, Now, Voyager was my second or third Gladys Cooper film (first being The Song of Bernadette). To be able to experience those two for the first time again, with her incredible performances would be something.

I haven't seen The Heiress, either, but it's sitting on my DVR just waiting.

I took a few weeks off to catch up on some tv shows, and now I'm getting back into the groove. My silent film queue is overflowing, including one I'm assuming you've seen, since you reference flappers in your signature-A Free Soul, with Norma Shearer, Lionel Barrymore, Clark Gable and Leslie Howard. Since seeing The Women for the first time about three months ago, I've started recording anything Norma Shearer-related that pops up.

My DVR is about to burst; it's packed with lots of Pre-Code era, Garbo, Jean Harlow, as well as the last three or four Powell and Loy films I've not seen. Right now, though, I'm thinking of doing a quick Astaire and Rogers marathon before my orders come in. I've got The Barkleys of Broadway, Follow the Fleet, The Gay Divorcee, Roberta, and Shall We Dance.

There's just not enough time in the day, sometimes.

I get what you mean! I dont know why, but I'm not a crazy Norma Shearer fan- Something about her I just don't love. The Women has a good storyline- but I didnt love that the first time I saw it- again, maybe I just have to watch it again- so many films I want to see- but havent had the chance to see. Then of course so many I want to buy and own forever- but not enough $$ ! My fave Astaire Rogers is Swing Time and Shall we Dance- Barkleys is good too! And Gay divorcee is good, love the costumes and sets!

About a year ago I watched Montgomery Clift's entire filmography in order. I remember thinking The Heiress was just middle of the road. I guess I should give it another shot.
