Ended up blind buying the Lone Wolf & Cub set as well as a few replacement Blu-ray cases (I still have a copy of Watership Down in a standard black DVD case). $10 off Criterion Channel promo coupon worked very well here.

Blood Simple is really the only other title I'm looking at right now (other than the Godzilla set, which I already ordered), so I'll wait until the B&N sale.

Same here. I'm giving it another year to see if they announce something before throwing in the towel and just buying the individual releases. I've had 6 of his titles on my wish list for over a year now.

With a Fellini box set almost a certainty next year, I can't see them release two big sets for two directors in the same year. I just wish they start to individually release some of those Kurosawa films that need to be upgraded to BD. Already have the newest SC version of Ran so a US release of that isn't a priority for me.

Kline is the Technical Director at Criterion. He talks about it briefly starting at 39:45. Also, John Sayles' Matewan is coming eventually, and Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala has been delayed due to issues with elements.

They never lost the rights to La Strada, and all signs point to them getting back Cabiria.
