I watched Jia Zhangke's Unknown Pleasures and The World today on TCM and both had Janus branding on them. They're not listed on their site yet but I wonder if we're finally getting Mainland China in the collection? Long overdue in my opinion.

A shame to read so many people had poor packaging with the flash sale orders. Mine came in a nicely sized box complete with a little padding.

There's at least two dozen titles we know Criterion is working on (via social media posts, restoration screenings, etc) that haven't been officially announced.

Same, but I had ordered 5 movies. Sounds like most of the folks that had packaging troubles ordered 3 or fewer.

I bought 3 and was discriminated against with the packaging. One blu-ray case was punctured.
Can I sue?

In my case I always order more than 3 movies and I always have damage to slipcases and this time was no different. If only they wrapped everything with a layer of bubble wrap, but in my case the box is always loosely packed and thus everything is allowed to move around. I try to always buy box sets at Barnes and Noble because of it, but they didn't carry the 2 Eclipse sets I wanted. Also, oddly the artwork on two of mine had a thin black magic marker line at the top. I also had one disc completely missing. Yes, I have the worst luck ever.

Luckily Criterion is wonderful with giving quick replacements of anything that is damaged so all's good. They also gave me a 10.00 credit for the missing disc as it's out of stock and it can't be replaced for a couple of weeks. Anyway, this is why I never play lotto.

As you suggest, a matter of luck. Was very hesitant, but ordered the Essential Jacques Demy box set (6 digi-paks housed in a thinnish slip-case). Arrived in perfect condition, but in my case, there was a big air bubble pillow in the box to prevent the contents from shifting.

I'm glad it arrived perfect for you! I think my situation is likely rare. It's the same with my Amazon packages too, so maybe some blame is with the postal carriers in my area.

I ordered the same, there was no protection and the corner of Lola got crunched inward. I actually think I was kinda lucky that was it.

You should be able to place an in-store order for them, unless B&N doesn't sell them at all. Then, you can choose to pick them up or have them delivered. Picking them up in-store is probably what you are looking for so you can inspect the packaging. It's how I purchased the Bergman box set.

I oddly never think to do that, but that's a good suggestion. Thank you! I'll give that a try in the future.

Been less than a month, but Criterion last comment from 9/27 was:
"Many of you have asked when your Charter Subscriber membership cards will be arriving. We expect to ship them out before the end of October! Remember, to receive a card, you have to have been signed up for the Criterion Channel before our launch in April, kept your account continuously active, and submitted your name and mailing address when we requested them this summer.

Thanks for your support! "
