I've always done just straight alphabetical with Criterions in their own section. Last year I separated things into genres of sci-fi/horror, drama/comedy, animation, and T.V. series. Works better I think, but I like the sound of chronological - might have to mull that over.

Summer Hours is definitely one of Criterion’s most underrated discs, great film.

I mix everything in Alphabetical order from Criterion to Olive to Studio Ghibli the only thing I separated is actual 4K ULTRA BLACK DISCS if I had enough STEELBOOKS I might separate them too. Criterions are just movies in the end guys. Well overpriced movies.

Speaking of separating Criterion, I also keep a movie diary. I log every movie I watch annually. I list the date it was watched, title, and the media (BD, HD DVD, DVD, Netflix, Criterion Channel, etc.) Within this log I do not identify the studio, distribution company, etc., with the sole exception of Criterion. If a title I watch is a Criterion release it is identified within the list.

I sort Criterion’s from A-Z, but I have a handful of directors that are broken out into their own section (Kubrick, Scorsese, PT Anderson, Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Malick, Lynch). Boxed sets are also separated into their own section.

Does anyone have any predictions for February releases? I'm assuming that we will know the February titles this Friday (11/15).

Well, considering that Criterion releases make up a larger percentage of my collection than anything else, it makes sense for me -- at least, it makes sense to ME -- to separate them out.

God. I so wish I had done that for all these years. *sigh*

I bought The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant.

I'm currently in the middle of the Showa era Godzilla set (and having a total blast), but I'll give the Fassbinder film a go soon.

Good news if true, but doesn't Lionsgate have the rights to it here?

All of my regular general releases I put in alphabetical order, but my Twilight Time, Kino, and Criterions all have their separate areas, and then they are further subdivided alphabetically.

I watched A Touch of Zen last night...first time viewing.

I liked it a lot, but no way it needed to be three hours long.

... ow I’m in the mood for a Lone Wolf and Cub marathon.

So can anyone answer how Criterion has Amores Perros if Lionsgate acquired the rights to it in US and Canada

I assume Lionsgate's license was for 20 years and it reverted to the producers. Same thing should be happening with Pi
