The DVD is still available and it isn't listed as OOP on Criterion's website, so the Blu is likely just in between pressings.

While the B&N sale is going on, I thought I'd mention I checked out "To Sleep With Anger" recently. As a fan of Charles Burnett's "Killer of Sheep", I figured I'd enjoy this one, but I was absolutely blown away by it. It's a masterpiece IMO and one of the best films of the 90s. The whole cast is terrific, but Danny Glover's performance is jaw-droppingly brilliant. And Burnett's writing and direction is so carefully crafted and tonally perfect and it never ceases to hit the right notes.

It's not a film that generated a ton of buzz when it was announced, but I couldn't give it a stronger recommendation. It's one of my favorite discoveries of the last couple of years.

The seller, Rarewaves, still has one available at the same price as of this posting. They are a very good seller and usually have the best deals on UK imports, but it's hard to keep up with their listings on eBay as they sell so much and eBay's search refinements are no where near as extensive as other sites.
This is the slimmed down, regular release. There was a limited edition Boxset that had each film in its own amaray as well as a booklet. Was also dual format

While there are hardly any bonus features on this - it does not need any as the film speaks for itself - you can watch in in two ways: internationally or Japanese: 3 or 6 parts, respectively

I'm leery to remove the sticker for fear of ripping the cardboard slipcase.
I'm ashamed to post this, as it acknowledges I have not yet watched this wonderful movie. However, for this discussion...

The sticker is clearly on the outside of the wrapper.

Nothing would make me happier than The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek. I’d love for my favorite film to get more exposure.

For those unfamiliar with the film, here’s my review: https://bottomshelfmovies.com/the-mi...ns-creek-1944/

I'm surrounded by movies I have yet to watch. My greatest fear is I'm going to become this guy. This...is my hell:

"3 Films by Roberto Rossellini starring Ingrid Bergman!
Five Films by John Cassavettes!
Documentaries by Welles...Resnais...Morris...!!!
Great dramas of Japan!
Movies....movies! All the movies I'll need! All the movies..all the movies I'll ever want."
Bergman...Tarkovsky...Lynch....ooooh!
All the movies I want. All the movies....ah.....
January....February....March....April.....
Boxed sets.....
Eclipse Series....
Booklets.....ohhhhh
Next year....
And the year after that....
And the best thing, the very best thing of all...is there's time now.
There's all the time I need, and all the time I want. Time time time!
Time enough at last!"

Once more, I'll hold out hope that That Hamilton Woman will get a Blu Ray upgrade. Also hoping Pandora's Box gets one.

I would also suggest that a return-and-rewrap is the most likely explanation. If it happened at Criterion, that would mean that the sticker was applied at the wrong time in the process, and then it got wrapped, which would require some kind of deliberate intervention, so it would be a much more active mistake than a B&N employee accepting a return and then re-wrapping it without realizing the issue with the sticker.

Thanks for your input! I wrote Criterion and they replied and told me that since all of their items are put together by hand that sometimes that sort of thing happens where the person putting it together makes a quick mistake. Anything is possible, I suppose. Anyway, they are sending me a new slipbox so I'm very happy. Love Criterion, they are such a great company to deal with.

February's lineup:
Antonio Gaudí
Paris is Burning
Roma
Teorema
Three Fantastic Journeys by Karel Zeman

I'm surprised no "Bamboozled" despite Lee himself stating it was going to be released in February.

The Teshigahara upgrades are ever so slowly trickling in!

I hope to see The Face of Another on BD sometime... And I'd blind-buy Pitfall.
