I could totally see this film coming to the Criterion Collection.

For those that have seen his films, please list your top 3 favorite films of his!
Hard to pick only 3 because they change all the time. Right now they’re probably Pain & Glory, Talk to Her, Tie Me Up Tie Me Down... rewatching one of his films makes that film be my new favorite at the time

Banderas has said he is playing Pedro, and I think that they have both said that while some of the elements of the film are inspired by his life it’s not strictly autobiographical

I’d be happy to buy this again if an eventual criterion were released but I’ll be fine just to by the upcoming Somy Classics bluray. Some of his older films could definitely use Blu-ray’s though. An early almodovar set with most everything up to Live Flesh would be amazing

They’ve released the clue on New Years Day or after midnight today. It’s way too early to say they aren’t releasing it.

RE: Almodovar

All About My Mother is considered the director’s masterpiece and for good reason. It’s that good. One of the best films of all-time, in my opinion.

Volver easily gets my vote as my second favorite film by him (from what I’ve seen). I must have seen it two or three times now and it still has the same effects on me with each viewing.

I know I haven’t seen a lot of his catalogue, but I can’t recall seeing a bad film from Almodovar. I enjoyed Broken Embraces, The Skin I Live In, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Hell, even his short The Cannibalistic Councillor was fun.

I really, really need to get around to watching Bad Education and Talk to Her.

I haven't seen enough Almodovar. I loved Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and All about My Mother. I saw Pain and Glory in theaters and it was also excellent, though a little different in some regards to many of his other films.

The Skin I Live In

I can't say there are any that i didn't enjoy, even I'm So Exited! which is probably considered his worst.
I think that's the only one of his I would have to say I didn't enjoy, although the earthbound section in the middle I thought was superb.

Very hard to pick only three, but here goes:

Women on the verge...
All about my mother
Julietta

...and about seventeen others I can't fit into the list

I’m So Excited is his one film I didn’t particularly like, even though there are some kitschy moments that are fun to watch. I’ve heard from some that the film doesn’t play very well outside of Spain because having a firsthand experience of current events/culture/government when the film came out is integral to enjoying (understand) the humor/themes of the movie

Can't wait to see the drawing this year. Hopeful for many titles, but probably 1 will make the drawing.

I don't think any A24 films will be in the Criterion drawing as Lionsgate release all their films on Blu-ray. Unless A24 and Criterion made a deal recently that I'm unaware of.

There's a rumor they'll be releasing In Fabric. We also know they have a deal with NEON now, who were pretty tight with Universal till now. Who knows what a new year may bring really.

Oh wow. Any idea when? I hoping Uncut Gems gets a release before the deal is over.
