My first flash was Mulholland Dr and Twin Peaks. I remember because both digipaks looked like they had been delivered by kicking the package to my house from their origin of delivery. Thankful Criterion is great about replacing packaging

Next to them, face out, are the boxes for the Lawrence of Arabia limited edition BD and the 70th Anniversary BD edition of Casablanca. The BDs themselves are on the regular shelves, but I wanted to display the boxes. At some point, I want to put up small shelves on the walls not covered by bookcases to display other such boxes. |

Looks like the Amazon sale is now 3 for the price of 2. Which makes the movies less than the half off sale. May have went a bit crazy.

My deeper interest in movies really only began in about late 2017 and I didn't start buying more until Criterion's first flash sale in 2018. I was mainly concerned with 'horror' movies at that point so I pretty much just looked for titles that fit the bill. My tastes have evolved immensely since then, but this was my first order:
The Devil’s Backbone Cronos Stalker Eraserhead Solaris Antichrist Barry Lyndon Night of the Living Dead Rosemary’s Baby It was the release of Night of the Living Dead around that time that piqued my interest in Criterion. Compare that to my most recent order: The Cloud-Capped Star Certain Women La poison Fellini Satyricon One-Eyed Jacks Phoenix Heaven’s Gate Häxan Hiroshima mon amour Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! Eclipse Series 4: Raymond Bernard La notte Cold Water Le samouraï The Passion of Joan of Arc Cat People The Leopard Tokyo Story Yi Yi Paths of Glory The Koker Trilogy Beauty and the Beast The Flavor of Green Tea over Rice Au revoir les enfants Hunger Fists in the Pocket Dekalog The Story of the Last Chrysanthemum |
