It also has a reversible cover with the original poster that I prefer to either of the other covers.

Well, as I said earlier, I'm assuming that any future street date announcements are theoretical for a while. And that's for BDs/DVDs, books, comics, theatrical releases, and so on. If they come out on the announced street dates, great. If they have to be pushed back because production plants need to shut down for a while, that's OK. And if any of the companies want to hold off on announcements until we have a better idea of how the next several months go for the world, I don't have a problem with that, either.

It's not like I (or any of us here, I suspect) don't have enough things to keep us entertained for a good while.

It’s the middle of the month, and under normal circumstances we would have announced our June DVD and Blu-ray releases today. As we all know these are not normal circumstances.

In order to be conscientious citizens and to reduce/delay the spread of COVID-19, the Criterion team spent much of last week transitioning to a remote working environment. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to continue our work this way, serving our mission while attending to the health, safety, and economic security of 100% of our staff.

We’ve been heartened by all the people who have reached out to us by email or shouted out on social networks to ask how we are doing, and the answer is, so far, so good. Our employees are up and running with the new protocols, and we’ll do everything we can to adapt as the situation evolves. We expect to move forward with the announcement of June titles in the next day or two.

We’re also aiming to announce the Criterion Channel’s April lineup next week. April 8 will be the Channel’s first birthday, and in celebration we’ve pulled out all the stops with a ton of great programming. Under the circumstances, we’re glad we did!

Finally, many of you have asked if there is anything you can do, and there is. Yeah, between unwatched films (of which I have WAY too many), unread books, and all things I have to re-watch, I hadly am in need for things to arrive right now, or anything like that.

That being said, I was truly happy when my copy of Frozen II: Ultimate Colletor's Edition 4K arrived today. I might not have been a huge fan of the film, at least compared to the first one, at least. But I really like the release.

I'm not too worried about street dates as I only buy during Flash sales and Barnes & Noble sales anyhow. For me the thing I'm happy about is the announcements. The "Hey we are releasing THIS film" part of it. If that has to stop, thats fine too. But I hope it doesn't.

I think Arrow's Model Shop was their first locked Sony title and Indicator's March releases are their first slate of locked Sony titles (they did have to lock one of the title in the 2nd William Castle box, but at the time that seemed to be a one off.)

This virus must be really hurting criterion since no other label that i have noticed has pushed back releases
Even vingear syndrome annouced their april lineup today and i have to imagine they much smaller then criterion

Born Yesterday is region free because Arrow released it in the US and UK, while they only had UK rights to Model Shop because the US disc was released by Twilight Time. I'd expect as TT rights expire, Arrow will release US editions of their films if Sony doesn't first.

TT's OOP version of Born Yesterday is the only US release. Arrow only released it in the UK before Sony mandated companies lock their titles.

I'm afraid it will effect all the labels. Expect more titles from more companies to be delayed and a worse case scenario for the industry in general is that some companies may go bankrupt.

The virus isn't going to go away overnight and will probably be around for sometime.

Yeah, this isn't going to end well for anyone, frankly. And we honestly have no idea what the long-term effects will be. That's a big part of what is causing all of the added anxiety.

I'm being both very optimistic as well as very pessimistic. I'm trying to be optimistic about how the most people possible will hopefully pull through this in the best condition, physically, psychologically, economically; and I'm being very pessimistic, hoping that it will help me on the other side (wherever that might be), thinking to myself that it wasn't as bad as I was worried it all might be.

Whether that approach is helping my mental and emotional health, or whether my anxiety is better or worse because of it? Don't know, honestly.

I'm choosing to be optimistic, and placing my faith in science, medicine, and the many brilliant people around the planet tackling this very serious issue.

I've no idea how it will affect the businesses that bring us all together here on this site, but I hope they survive with the minimum of impact.
