Sounds like a Abbott & Costello routine.

Why not get the Arrow version unless you don't have multi-region?
Especially now that there is a regular version that is cheap as anything

Even though I own the CC version of Videodrome on DVD - & a must because of the cassette sized look, the Arrow release is fantastic. But missing the Cronenberg commentary like Shout's Dead Ringers is missing much that CC has

I had a chance to see the UK premiere of the B&Wversion of Parasite at the Glasgow Film Festival earlier this month but only found out about it at the last minute & already had something booked wigh a friend

It's always good to see a variation of a film but can anyone explain what this would add to Parasite. I don't see how it would make it better?

it’s okay for you to give your opinion on cover art... but when someone has a different opinion about it, its moaning. Gotcha.

We could turn this into a Laurel and Hardy routine if you call me a "you-you!" "Stop! Don't call me a you-you!"

I haven't seen either version yet but read that the director admitted it was partly for vanity reasons as many "classic" films were shot in B&W, and also that he thought that the more stark contrast amplified the film's themes. Something like that.

Side question.. is there any sort of theory behind certain covers getting posters in the Criterion store? I'm interested in the new Portrait of a Lady on Fire cover and was wondering if there's any way to know whether it will be getting a poster. And when films in the collection do get poster releases, when do they go up for sale? Around the release date of the disc I'm guessing?

With yesterday's announcements, my list keeps growing. By the time the B&N sale comes around in July (if stores are open by then), I'm going to be spending a lot of money. May and June releases are incredible.

Criterion has vastly superior special features including a great interview with Nakadai. I don't want to waste money on set when another one will eventually be coming down the line that has everything I want. I also don't want to own two sets as space becomes more and more limited.

If you pre-order a release from Criterion, do they ship it to you so that it arrives on the release day, or do they ship it out the day it releases? If it arrives on release day, I may take advantage of the discount for one or two of the June titles. Otherwise, if it's not going to arrive until ~the next week, I'll just wait for the summer sale since we'll be in July by then anyways.

Thank you!

I've been fortunate in that I'm living in the middle of Bullmoose Country, vis a vis their brick'n'mortar stores. They also give me good prices on my DVDs (as I upgrade to BD) or BDs (as I upgrade to UHD). On the other hand, sheltering in place due to current events means that I'll need to order from them on-line for the nonce instead of dropping into the store(s).

Typically, in my experience (and under normal circumstance), the ship date and delivery are both before street date.

Did everybody get a $10 off code last night?

The last one I received mentioned that there was no expiration date in the email itself.

No, I didn't. What the hell? I've ordered from them in the past and subscribe to their Channel. What gives?
