Plus, if you're like me (and I do assume that everyone is like me) then you don't mind staring at Tim Curry in fishnets and a corset.

I guess that works. It's better than Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown (cue picture of Pennywise's crazy fang mouth).

Not sure about "Elevator To The Gallows," but I know that "The Children Are Watching Us" is undergoing some kind of repackaging because I contacted Criterion about it not being available during the B&N sale. I was told that it would be available again in about 6 weeks. So, the same thing could be happening with "Elevator To The Gallows."

I agree with you there. Pennywise still creeps me out from back when I watched that as a kid.

In my opinion, the best Tim Curry performance came in the form of "The Worst Witch"... "Anything can happen on Halloween...".

My releases wish list (very low hopes on them actually being released) :
The rest of the Antoine Doinel set (as I want Antoine and Colette, and I blatantly refuse to upgrade my copy of The 400 Blows until all the titles in this set are available)
M. Hulot's Holiday
Mon Oncle
Brazil
Early David Lean films
Rushmore
The Royal Tenenbaums
The 39 Steps
The Lady Vanishes
Knife in the Water

I LOVE the worst witch. It's a rarity to find anyone else that knows about it. Kudos!

I'm sorry, but I love Tim Curry in Muppet Treasure Island.

Yes, I'm 10 years old, don't judge me.

Yeah, well if you're 32 like me, then it's probably when you fell in love with Fairuza Balk and Tim Curry at the same time. The books are probably where J.K. Rowling took her whole Harry Potter inspiration from, I imagine.

Then, I can only suggest not to frequent this thread as often, good sir.

Not only is this the "official" Criterion Collection Discussion thread, but it also has an implied subtitle... "and anything Tim Curry-related".

We're close, as I will hit 30 in two months. But this definitely, as you stated, began my love of tim curry and fairuza balk. I remember hbo running their promos back then with the "pleasant nightmares" line and the jack o lantern wink.

To me Tim Curry has always been the guy from Clue and Home Alone 2.

That being said, I'm happy to admit that I've met the man.

Well, I can assure you I WILL still frequent this thread, as I always have, and that I will merely sift through the Tim Curriness of such a thread.

Good point. I had almost forgotten about that. I'm not sure what book of the bible that was in, though.

It's in every book, and I'm not just talking about the bible.

I love how this is CLEARLY about 10 people who are bored to death while Criterion hesitates to reveal the February releases.

It's been that way for about a year now. If it is going out of print they would tell us, so they can make last min money.
