Very interesting. No surprise about the Cocteau titles - really hope they get to those sooner rather than later. The Fellinis will obviously be in the box set, then maybe upgraded individually later like some of the Bergmans were.

Gotta say, kinda bummed Last Holiday (1950) isn't on the list. Maybe Film Movement or Shout Factory will release it.
My list is not a complete list, just what I'm pretty sure are with them.

Before: Today was a very miserable and painful day for me since I didn't get to do anything exciting nor fun so I was pretty bummed overall. And then I found this video. I only watched the trailer and didn't dare to read the summary about what this film was about. And I have never seen a Haneke film in my life. I was so excited to see a romantic (perhaps comedy) film as I haven't watched one in years.
After:

I regret everything.

Just wanted to tell you guys that the MUBI library is open so if you have a MUBI subscription, you can check any films that you didn't get to watch that came out within the last month or two. For those who don't have MUBI and are considering to go on free trial, look at their category first before checking in.

Here are All the Films that You May Know:
Beanpole (2019), Carnival of Souls (1962, Available on Criterion Channel), The Southerner (1945), A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014), Le Cercle Rouge (1970, Possible Blu-ray Rerelease soon!), India Song (1975), The Last Man on Earth (1964), The Image Book (2018, Available on Criterion Channel), Inferno (1980), Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! (1967), Fantastic Planet (1973, Available on Criterion Channel), The Day He Arrives (2011), The Beach of Agnes (2008, Coming soon to Criterion), Charade (1963, Public Domain Film), Rebels of the Neon God (1992, Available on Criterion Channel), Antiporno (2016), Robinson Crusoe (1954, Available on Criterion Channel), Hoop Dreams (1994), Night of the Living Dead (1968), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), and The Immigrant (1917).

You're Welcome

If only. But I don't know if they want to upgrade all their Eclipse films to HD, plus they would lack supplements and perhaps good HD quality for films that are impossible to restore like the Kurosawa films for example.

But if they're willing to restore any Eclipse set, I would nominate Nikkatsu Noir and Basil Dearden's Underground series as my top nominees. Dearden's films that are in the Eclipse set have already been released in Blu-ray in the UK so I hope they consider getting these movies in Blu-ray sometime soon. Nikkatsu Noir may be one of the cleanest looking DVDs I have ever seen for a B-movie. Since Nikkatsu never gave a damn about the directors, yet they do give a damn about their transfer and restorations.

Other nominees I would include would be Late Ozu, The Warped World of Koreyoshi Kurahara, and the Delirious Fiction of William Klein. But I doubt that the Klein boxset will get upgraded to HD since Mr. Freedom is probably one of the most Anti-American films to date. And since I have a big heart for Japanese films, I wouldn't mind seeing any Japanese Eclipse Sets getting a HD upgrade since I haven't seen any but am very excited to see some of them.

They are titles TBH I wish were with Kino, since I think we will be waiting a long time for Criterion to upgrade it to BluRay.

Hey does anyone know who owns the rights to Peeping Tom (1960). I just watched my first Powell film which was Black Narcissus (1947) and I must say I was taken away from the shot when Deborah Kerr opened the door and that gust of wind blowing on her all the way 'till ending. My gosh this film was way more entertaining than I had expected for.

And I've been keeping an eye on Powell for a while but always had an interest in Peeping Tom (1960) which is literally a British version of Psycho (1960) which I love of course. Who wouldn't call themselves a horror fan and fall in love with Psycho (1960). I'm not a horror fan but love me some nightmares every once in a while.

So the question is: Does Criterion, Kino, or StudioCanal own Peeping Tom (1960)?

But I shouldn't keep my hopes up too high until StudioCanal announces a 4K restoration theatrical re-release which won't happen for a while and that would probably make everyone in Region A to wait another year before someone releases it. It seems like Peeping Tom is the last remaining piece of essential Powell that needs a Blu-ray release in Region A!

And now, Red Shoes (1948) is next

Studiocanal. IIRC, the KL Insider said they did not have the title which suggest its either with Criterion or even Film Movement.

Let me make it clear that I adore the Criterion Channel. But if my subscription were coming up and I had the choice between that and HBO Max, I'm not sure what I'd pick.

What does everyone else think?
No regrets based on what I've seen so far. They have a very small percentage of Janus films compared to what's on the Criterion Channel. All of what they do have is also on the Criterion Channel. And their classic movie selection outside of the Criterion stuff is very boring to me. A lot of great ones, but all widely known and available stuff that I either own on disc or deliberately have passed on.

If they eventually start opening the floodgates of the Warner, MGM, RKO film libraries it may be a different story. Even then, Criterion Channel has too much good stuff even just considering Japanese cinema (like the Oshima and Shinoda stuff) for me to cancel unless I find another source for that stuff.

I don’t live in the U.S. and have no use for my $10 of code 3B4U2E.

Please leave a PM or message in the thread when used.

Edit: The $10 code is used.

Default Question about Insiang (1976) *SPOILERS*

Just finished up title from Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project, Insiang (1976). I thoroughly enjoyed it, but i am curious to as why Insiang wanted revenge against Bebot? I assumed Bebot had just left her at the hotel for his own well being and i was under the impression they did not have sex the night before. I can be wrong and they did have sex and he left her, it makes sense but i took it that they didn’t.

I downloaded it a few months ago and was willing to watch it but always re-watching some old favorite.
When I saw it for sale online and for a very cheap price (at least for an import such as Criterion) I had to buy it.

I love to read about the Che and really want to watch this asap

Can you please put the spoiler tag on this next time? I haven't seen Isiang but I feel like I just heard a major spoiler for the movie now.

If you don't know how to put spoiler tags on, click on, "Go to Advanced" which is on the right of the "Post Reply" button and click on the button that shows a smilie having his eyes covered on the top bar that's on the same row as the Bold, Italic, and Underline Icon.

Thank You. And now that you're talking about it, I'll go watch this movie tomorrow then

Is anybody else already working on their Barnes & Noble and Flash sale lists? I've got a certificate to B&N, so I'll buy a few from them if their sale happens:

Leave Her to Heaven
The Lady Eve
The War of the Worlds

My Flash sale list is looking absolutely gargantuan.
