So, now that one is with KL. "Orchestra Rehearsal" and "Voice of the Moon" are both with Arrow. "The Clowns" is with Raro. "City of Women" is with Cohen Media.

This Criterion Fellini box set will be missing a good bit of his titles. Not nearly as comprehensive as the Bergman or Varda boxes.
You're assuming they can't make a deal for the titles that are with other labels. They were able to license The Serpent's Egg from Arrow for their Bergman mega-set.

Yes, personally I hate weddings, but I guess if I ever had one, it would be the only one I'd attend too.

As for Radiohead, any woman who loves that band is a win-win for me.

It was in the newsletter clue, like the announced Varda and Bruce Lee box sets along with a clue for the yet to be announced WKW set. Also in a podcast they hinted strongly by saying 2020 would be the year of Fellini. Unless there is some delay because of COVID, most everyone feels that it's pretty definite there will be a Fellini Box set this year.

Oh wow, so nice! Music is great for bringing people together. And nice to see a fellow Radiohead fan on here. I'm a huge fan too.

Some really sweet Criterion deals at Target right now.

after tax, most come out to $16 to $19 after taxes and B2G1/5%red card discounts.

Just be mindful that the few $29.99 MSRP titles aren't really that discounted.

Is this on the Janus Films website? I'm not seeing these pages.

Generally, does the creation of new pages mean a pretty reliable indicator that the titles will be introduced/upgraded for future Criterion releases?

I think the rumor is that Criterion likely has Le Cercle Rouge. However, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I recall it being mentioned that StudioCanal was doing a new 4K transfer. If I'm not making that up, it likely isn't going to be re-released until they can get access to it.

Yes, "Le Cercle Rouge" was mentioned as a title that was receiving a new 4K master in the StudioCanal Deadline article.

I was able to find the pages by viewing the Page Source on their website.

Grateful for any comments on Jim Jarmusch. He has a number of films in the collection, but I've never seen anything he's directed.

I have the Arrow release of The Limits of Control on its way from Amazon UK as part of a bigger order (much better price than the US version) - and this was a blind-buy based purely on reading the review here and on Beaver, and thinking it sounds and looks to be my kind of film. No idea where it might rank in his filmography, though.

Just a reminder: If Criterion announces September releases today get your fingers ready to order them in advance at 30% off on their website, as its stated their discount will end today.

Then again, they've pushed this deadline back twice already. I can't imagine it being extended any further unless they want to bump it up right against B&N's (presumed) sale in July.

I've seen all of Jarmusch's work, and The Limits of Control probably isn't the greatest entry point. Depending on your tastes, I would recommend starting with Down By Law, Broken Flowers, or Paterson. Don't get me wrong, Limits is a fine movie and worth owning if you're a Jarmusch fan, but it's probably the most challenging of all his films.

I was able to purchase Salesman, The Cranes Are Flying, and Husbands with free shipping and tax included for $59.23. Now, if the Barnes and Noble sale does not happen, I can be reasonably happy with waiting for the next Criterion flash sale.

If you like really slow films with a lot of meandering talk, you should be okay
I've seen only very few of his movies. I was quite moved by Dead Man and bored to tears by Only Lovers Left Alive.

I've seen all of them besides the The Stooges documentary Gimmie Danger (and I'm a Stooges fan, not sure why I've postponed a watch for so long). I went chronologically with Jarmusch, hadn't seen a single film of his till I got Permanent Vacation on DVD, which happened to be in a box set that I wanted. Not necessarily the best place to start though.

If I wanted to warm up to Jarmusch, I'd peep Down by Law, Night on Earth or Dead Man. Perhaps Mystery Train. I love all his films though – except The Dead Don't Die. Wasn't particularly fond of that.

I agree with this and would also recommend Down By Law as a better entry point for Jarmusch. I'd also recommend Stranger Than Paradise, Night On Earth, or Ghost Dog (not yet out in Region 1). But even at his best, he's definitely not for everyone.

I love his independent spirit, and he does have a wry, great sense of humor & Mystery Train & Night on Earth are funny romps, but I believe he peaked with Dead Man, where his style coalesced with and enormously deepened the story. There's really no other movie like it, in or out of his filmography. It and Ghost Dog are the only movies of his I've remained fans of. His other movies IMO, are very much style over substance. The Limits of Control, most certainly.

Similar styles to his can be found in The Hit and just about any Wim Wenders film.

Down by Law, Stranger Than Paradise and Dead Man are all better entry points and worth watching as is Paterson (not Criterion but has a US release).

I’m guessing we are getting announcements today? Hoping the Irishman is part of the slate.
