Hmm.. no, that's the right page. When I put in "Criterion Collection blu-ray" in the search box I get 2 pages (117 items) and it's just the discs included in the sale. Strange that it's not the same for everyone.

In the sort by box do you have "featured" selected?

All I get even with that link is a lot of unwanted crap. Oh well, I only want Fail Safe anyway, so no loss here.

Hasn’t officially been announced yet. They do drawings that are clues for upcoming releases. On New Years there was one that hinted at a Fellini box.

I bet five dollars Vintage World Cinema's release of Nights of Cabiria released earlier this year looks better than Criterion's version will look. I will still buy their Fellini boxset, though.

How would it look better if they are both using the same transfer?

Because Criterion will cram so much supplementary material on the same disc. Eight and a Half for example:

• Screen-specific audio essay featuring commentary by film critic and Fellini friend Gideon Bachmann and NYU Professor of Film Antonio Monda
• Introduction by Terry Gilliam, director of Brazil and 12 Monkeys
• Fellini: A Director’s Notebook, a 52-minute film by Federico Fellini
• Nino Rota: Between Cinema and Concert, a compelling 48-minute documentary about the maestro behind the music of Fellini's films
• Interviews with actress Sandra Milo, director Lina Wertmüller, whose career began on the set of 8 1/2, and cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, who discusses the revolutionary art of Gianni di Venanzo
• The Last Sequence, a new 52-minute documentary on Fellini’s lost alternate ending for 8½

We don't even know what's going to be on the disc... you know what, nevermind.

Forgive me for being stupid but I have no idea what the 3 for 2 sale means

Does it mean you can pick three items and one is free or...?

My brain just generally isn't working in quarantine.

Yes they're referring to the "Buy 2 Get One Free" thing.

Saw the sale going on yesterday and I was also pretty confused. From what I think, it seems like if you buy 3 movies, the total would be two of those products added together instead of all three product prices being added up altogether. I don't think I'll be participating in this sale however since I already bought some stuff lately so I don't think I should be spending more money for now and wait until later. Plus, there aren't any films I'm particularly interested in buying. Only one product and that's it and the films that I DO want to buy (a few others) are all DVDs so I decided to skip the sale. I don't know if they allow Blu-ray versions of the product. I'll have to go check on it right now then.

The buy 3 works this way. You put 3 items in your cart and they drop the price of the lowest item, so you are paying for two buy are getting 3 items.

Yes, it is selected.

I was typing "Criterion" in the box and hitting the "Search" button. Doing it your way works. Thanks.

Watched Masculin feminin last night. I had forgotten how Godard can throw sucker punches with the social and political commentary. Wow. Mid 60s. Enough said. Mostly for the younger crowd, though. Chantal Goya is a real cutie.

Speaking of Godard, if you are interested, Amazon Originals just released a film aptly named Seberg which stars Kristen Stewart as Breathless star Jean Seberg. It covers the tragic period when the FBI targeted her for her support of the Black Panthers, destroying her career and ultimately leading to her suicide at age 40.

I was excited about Seberg, but it's not good at all. Like you mentioned, it covers her career post-Godard and therefore post-Criterion coverage, and the main character is absolutely flat. They tried, but the film just doesn't bring much in terms of insight or engagement.

But I loved Karina Longworth's several episodes about Seberg and Jane Fonda on her podcast You Must Remember This. Longworth not only researches (fact-lover here), but she's also a great storyteller. I've recommended these episodes of Remember This to a lot of people. It's not often that a purely audio podcast is this much better than a film, but her Seberg is mine now. And it really adds to an appreciation of her work.
