Do any fellow Canadians know (or any of you Criterion experts), is there a difference between the Canada and US releases of Criterion titles? I'm puzzled why seemingly-identical duplicate releases (down to the UPC) of most Criterion titles are listed in this site's database, one for US and one for Canada.

they're pretty good about it. i grabbed a copy of Ghost World during a previous sale that had so cellophane. had the price sticker, Criterion stickers, etc. but not wrapper! craziest thing, and i also did NOT notice until i got home.

what i'm wondering is if i can return this to a nearby affiliate store & have them ship a copy to me instead of going all the way back...

Thanks. She has the look of a 60's screen siren...from a show I see was made in 2016.

That happened to part of my order. Notorious (Hitchcock) was deleted from the order after the fact because it wasn't actually available. It went out of stock online while I waited for my in-store order, really annoying.

I had The Manchurian Candidate show as available in store but get rejected when I click order. That rejection unfortunately doesn't update the "in stock" designation.

As an aside, I hate the digipack for Police Story. It screams "cheap for its own sake". Is a two-disc version of their very nice blu-ray case too much to ask? Plenty of room in one.

Just started? It started last night! This is the B&N Criterion sale after all, a well-known and anticipated event for fans, the boxing day of boutique Blu-ray...

I like the word. Let me try it in a sentence: "The drug I am taking has giving me moobage."
The word is versatile too. It could be used to refer to the mammaries of a cow.

I just picked this up today and can agree with you. The artwork is cool but everything does feel on the cheap side. Especially the slip cover which seems a little too tight for the foldout to slip into easily.

I went to my local B&N right at 9:30 when they opened. Was able to get everything on my list except for War of the worlds, too many people placed for in store pickup. So I just order War of the worlds online.

Picked up in store:
Godzilla Showa era collection
3:10 to Yuma
The Great Escape
Come & See
Jackie Chan Police story 1/2

For those who have placed orders with multiple items in a single order via shipping from B&N in the past, do they usually ship together in a box or separately as they become available? Would prefer to get them all together in a box as opposed to individually since they're more prone to getting damaged when shipped individually via bubble mailer or those corrugated cardboard packaging (ahem...Target).

I picked up four titles today:

The great escape
The grand budapest hotel
Paths of Glory
Ace in the hole

I already have the last 2 on masters of cinema but got criterions for the extras. I had to order for pick up in store as paths of glory was out of stock online and the store i was in had the last blu ray within 100 miles where i live and thats before the sale even started. Fail safe was out of stock but i already have the better movie dr strangelove from criterion.

I did get 4 others from best buy using coupons they keep sending me for buying the Lg OLED 77" c9 from them.

The cameraman
Destry rides again
The lady Eve
Quadrophenia (big who fan)

I couldnt find anything else to buy as i ussually pass on most criterions as im mostly only into classic hollywood movies. I did get two other movies in the mail today to hell and back from umbrella and night passage from kino.

My B&N orders have always shipped together in a cardboard box. I can't say what would happen if one of the titles were to be backordered or something.

I would not recommend ordering a larger Boxset through the mail with B&N. A while ago I ordered the Zatoichi collection online and it arrived in a bubble mailer not a box. Obviously it was banged up pretty bad, luckily I was able to swap it out for a good set at a local store.

Probably not the norm for them but I would never risk it again after that, not on the larger more expensive box sets.

My Bergman set arrived damaged in a cardboard box (because there was no packing or anything with it). I took it to my local store and had them ship me another one....which was packed the same exact way of course, but luckily arrived without damage.

I found everything at my local store except for Certified Copy and House. The employee helping me seemed very knowledgeable. He said he should be able to easily order them. But when he checked, he was surprised. They only had 4 copies of Certified Copy in the warehouse and he said that House is now "out of print". I hope he meant just out of stock. idk. Either wayit doesn't seem like theyll be restocking House anytime soon, so I bit the bullet and got it from Amazon for $27.
