no difference. criterion releases are imports in canada though.

Just picked this up in-store at the B&N in the Prudential Center, Boston, along with Hiroshima Mon Amour.

They were out of Leave Her to Heaven, but ordered it for me for in-store pickup in 2-3 business days.

Good to shop again for Criterion at B&N, a reminder of the good old days pre-COVID.

Like some of you have mentioned, it's nice to get back in the store and window shop the shelves. Had an excellent conversation with a total stranger about Bette Davis tonight. Both of us masked up, socially distanced, and just chatting away. Ended up walking out with 6 more titles on top of the 6 I ordered for pick-up. Good times...

Lol....i almost screwed myself like an idiot too. Good thing the guy was cool. There was an associate organizing the Criterions while i was browsing. I asked him about Come and See and he said he just pulled the last one for someone's online order. So i continued browsing and when i saw the Bruce Lee set i grabbed it and said "Whoa, you have this out already?". He goes "Am i not supposed to?" I said "uh, nevermind, it's cool." He laughs and asks when it is due out and when i told him Tuesday he just shrugged and said "It didn't beep at me when i scanned it into inventory, so it's fine by me".

Is there silver reflective print on the "Greatest Hits" text and elsewhere on the packaging?

Nope, it's just regular grey text. The box is rather uninspired. Basic thin cardboard, no embossing, no spot gloss, etc. It's a far cry from the gorgeous Zatoichi boxset for instance.

Arizona Dream is now streaming on the Criterion streaming network in HD. I hope we can get a Blu-Ray release of it soon.

Surprised Bruce Lee is shipping from B&N before everything else. I didn't think it would come out for another month or more, because I wasn't expecting to buy it any time soon when it was 98 dollars on Amazon. Seems nuts that my PRE-ORDER should be just 62.49.

B&N Sale Round 1 Pickups. All except For All Mankind are blind buys. Charade and F for Fake were recommendations by another collector I met at the store.

Well, Mr. SlimerJoel, you got a great blind buy with Manchurian. Others are good, but that is one of the best. As to B&N, I have to say I am very happy about the sale, and I was able to use the member discount with it. On the other hand, it does appear to be scaled back considerably. Very few titles where in the past they would have multiple titles of many films. I also despise the need to spider wrap the gift sets. Some were completely ruined by an aggressive wrapper, and with only one title each, I just could not justify buying a ruined set even if it is discounted heavily. I suppose with current events I should be happy.

In years past, usually one of the October announcements was Halloween-themed. With that in mind, I give you my five Halloween-themed predictions:

Freaks (Tod Browning, 1932)
I Walked With a Zombie (Jacques Tourneur, 1943)
The Devils (Ken Russell, 1971)
Arsenic and Old Lace (Frank Capra, 1944)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Rouben Mamoulian, 1931)

I'll be beyond elated whenever Criterion announces "The Devils".

Since there's three months left for them to announce them, I imagine each of the announced Netflix movies will each get an announcement for each month.

Went in store today and picked up:

"The Great Escape"
"Naked"
"The Prince of Tides"

Today's Criterion Collection haul on the B&N 50% off sale:

Got the Six Moral Tales box set before they ruined the slipcase with that asinine spider-wrap anti-theft thingy.
