Just heard that Stanley Kurbrick's Napoleon from an alternate universe will be making it into the collection in November.

If only! It’s my most wanted upgrade by a long, long shot.

For what it's worth, that specific still doesn't seem familiar to me.

It is quite possible that Criterion just updated the image on the page. It's also quite possible that it's been up, but I've been so far out of the loop, and I never noticed.

This is true, as this seems to be the case for films that haven’t gotten upgrades yet (Ran and Tales of Hoffman also similarly have 1 still up as well)

Although Peeping Tom has about 5-6 stills that look like they are from a remaster

I guess Criterion must have moved their release of the original cut of "The Magnificent Ambersons" - which was just found in a frozen lake in Antarctica - to December then...

8:15PM and still no announcement. Kinda mad but at the same time it wouldn't be the right thing to be mad at Criterion if they have a reason. I still want to know why they're holding it out so long

As long as it doesn't bump The Day the Clown Cried: The Director's Cut, I won't be complaining. We need Jerry in the collection!

This was my total haul from the last B&N sale:

Sorry for posting this so late but the Bruce Lee set was back ordered and arrived over the weekend. It came in one of those corrugated body bags and I fully expected some damage but amazingly it came through unscathed.

The complete cut of von Stroheim's Greed was found in my attic a few weeks ago, as well, making things even more complicated.

About Hard Boiled and The Killer, Kino Lorber twitted:

Quote:
Again, we would love to release them, but last we heard they were both with another label, who'll most likely release them on Blu-ray, but not 4K.
Fortune Star + John Woo + Blu-ray only. That sounds familiar.

Well, it may for The Killer but Hard Boiled was never a Fortune Star title

That UK set was from 2008 masters. Apparently there has been recent restorations though so fingers crossed.

I finally broke down and bought a copy of the BFI set back in May, so its likelihood as a Criterion upgrade has significantly increased.

No, I don't. Mr. Kramer asked me to be in it, but I was only 9 years old at the time, and my mother wouldn't let me.
