Same. It's one of my favorite Bresson films and for me the most interesting of all the JOAN OF ARC films (though Dreyer begs to debate that!).

On another Criterion topic, can anyone chime in on the films PIERROT LE FOU and TONI and whether or not they have repeat value? Surprisingly, I have never seen either, so while it might be heresy to some for even suggesting this, I was wondering if owning these would be worth it or would I get my fill watching them on the Criterion Channel? Thanks in advance.

Svet has reviewed the upcoming release of The Hit:

Not a huge upgrade, but I'll take it as it's a favourite of mine.

Akira Kurosawa’s Magnum Opus

It’s 6:50 in the morning, and I just finished Red Beard. What a profoundly beautiful film. I am moved beyond words.

And, what a brilliant final act in the collaborations between Akira Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune. Bravo, gentlemen!

Criterion, please bring this poignant masterpiece to blu-ray.

Most other etailers keep items in the cart until you remove them.

Do others experience the same thing?
So odd. I know Amazon and Diabolik keep your cart full. Arrow goes a step further and sends you reminder emails that there are items in your cart. Some companies try to be hip and cool by doing things differently than others - I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here.

Yes, it’s a design fault of the new Criterion site.

That’s interesting regarding KL! Are you logged in every time? The KL site over-zealously logs me out but my cart/wishlist have remained for several months across multiple devices as long as I’m logged in. It makes it so easy to scan prices during sales.

For me, this makes it more difficult to buy things on their site. My wish list is a mess- can find no rhyme nor reason nor order for how things show up there. So I can neither store them in my cart, or easily move them to the cart from my wish list. I will have to keep track of my cart in a spreadsheet and manage it that way.

The Wish List used to show titles in the order they were added - most recent at the top. Now, adding a single title jumbles the order of all the others.

I use an Amazon Wish List to organize them, even though I very rarely buy a Criterion from that site.

Honestly, I think none of the masters of the past have the same cultural cache because time marches on. Some people will always be interested in their films, but most only care about recent releases and, maybe, a few childhood/teenage favorites. This has always been the case.

Agreed. It's why you get stuff like The Lord of the Rings trilogy appearing in lists of the greatest movies ever made a few years after release.

I understand thate Cart Abandonment can really mess with inventories for on line retailers:

It has been announced that the World of Wong Kar-Wai theatrical tour is going to start on December 4th, so I wouldn't expect the box set to be announced this month.

Lets hope you are wrong.

Robert Bresson's 'Mouchette' has a trailer added to its page. This means that we can expect a bluray upgrade to be announced tomorrow.

I just want a Japanese film from Criterion. I can't remember the last time they released one. The Godzilla set? Would love to have the Human Condition trilogy upgraded.
