I almost never cry during movies. But, these were the films are the ones that about did me in at certain scenes or even the entire film:

Titanic (1997)
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982)
Cloud Atlas (2012)
Les Miserables (2012)
Win Win (2011)
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (2003)

The quickest movie I can think of off the bat is "Children of Men"...the whole bringing the baby down the stairs scene had warm tears flowing down my cheeks before I knew I had even shed them!...I'm sure there's plenty more stuck up here, it's just that one left an impression on me that haunts me still...Oh, and Jim finding his parents had commited suicide while he was comatose in Hospital as the outbreak rampaged London around them in "28 Days Later". The note with the "with endless love we left you sleeping, now we're sleeping with you, don't wake up xoxo" that had me balling. Danny Boyle made me sob in the most unexpected film I thought I would be.

Revisited the remake of 'The Nutty Professor'. It got me a few times - Eddie Murphy's best performance in my opinion.

Wreck-It Ralph's selfless act at the end of the movie. But the music score may have played a large role in that.

50/50 had me very close when JGL is saying bye to his parents before going into surgery and he doesn't know if he'll ever see them again or not.

Nothing will ever match the tears shed during my first viewing of Grave of the Fireflies.

I can easily get teary eyed, but the one that springs to mind is A Beautiful Mind when everyone is giving him the pens at the end.

I read this so many times, so I finally watched it and instead of crying I was yawning. Sure it sounds sad, but it had little effect on me. I think the animation style had much to do with it, it really took me out of the movie. Plus the hokey dialogue and voice acting (original Japanese mix). I found it slow and I guess knowing the end before hand also didn't help.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

The movies that made me tear up:
My Girl (HE CAN'T SEE WITHOUT HIS GLASSES)
Brothers (the last 10 minutes)
Up (the first 10 minutes)
50/50 (the scene in the car the night before the surgery)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (I can't count how many parts)
Big Fish (when Will carries Edward to the river)
Toy Story 3 (when Andy gives away the toys)
Water for Elephants (the ending)
The Help (when Aibileen tells off Hilly and says goodbye to the little girl)
The Perks of Being a Wallflower (the very end where Charlie goes through the tunnel)
Inception (the ending, mainly because of the score)
The Polar Express (mainly for just how beautiful and moving it was)
Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man (Uncle Ben, nuff said)
Hugo (the montage of Georges' downfall)
Reign Over Me (when Charlie breaks down when the pictures of his family are shown)
Brian's Song (it's a rule that men MUST cry at the end)
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (the 'I like me' scene and the last 10 minutes)

In TV:

Doctor Who S7 E5: The Angels Take Manhattan (when Amy and Rory jump off the roof and when Amy sacrifices herself to the Angels when Rory is taken by them)

S7 E7: The Rings of Akhaten (the speech that The Doctor gives to the "god" as the rest of the characters are singing the lullaby)

Yeah, this movie did it to me as well. My brother was battling Leukaemia for over 10 years. Unfortunately he was in the other 50.

Moulin Rouge
Love Actually
Toy Story 3

Dear Zachary

My Tree of Life experience is memorable. I was on a date, and went to see this, having only seen one other Terrence Malick film (The New World). I really had no idea what to expect, but something in that movie triggered a flood of emotions. I did a pretty good job of keeping it in checking during the movie, just shedding the occasional tear. Once I got out of the theater we sat down for a minute and I just started bawling my eyes out. I sobbed for a solid five minutes. I still can't put my finger on it, but something in that movie triggered something emotional from my childhood.

My date was actually charmed and thought it was pretty endearing, but I was so embarrassed.

Schindler List:
[Show spoiler]Schindler breaks down crying, realizing that he could have gotten more Jews out alive.

Valkyrie:
[Show spoiler]After they get caught, and are executed via firing squad, Valkyrie shouts out (before they execute him) "Long live sacred Germany".

Les Miserables.

I watched it in theater 3 times, and the first two times I had tears coming down my cheeks. I don't remember ever doing that. I teared up several times in other movies but never enough to have to wipe the tears off my cheek.

I also saw it 2 times on blu-ray so far, but didn't tear up again. I guess there was just something that connected with me the first two times. Definitely my favorite movie of last year.
