It's amazing the feels you can get with little dialogue. Pixar is the best.
Considering people love the first 10 minutes of UP and the first 30 minutes of Wall-E the best out of each of their movies, I'm surprised Pixar hasn't tried to pull a Shaun of the Sheep. They clearly have the skill to pull off a full length film with very little dialog... Wall-E would of probably dethroned Ratatouille as my favorite Pixar movie if the entire film was like the first 30 minutes.

The beginning of Up always gets me - Pixar is amazing at speaking to us adults, without upsetting the kiddies in attendance.

Armageddon - same scene someone else mentioned when Willis is talking to his daughter at the end. Heck, I can hear the Aerosmith song on the radio and get a little misty.

Fisher King when Bridge's character realizes that his radio show was what ruined Robin Williams life.

I just saw The Judge with Robert Downey Jr. recently for the second time. Don't remember any huge emotional connection when I saw it the first time. However, my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness this summer, so the scenes with him caring for his father just hit me like a sledgehammer - one minute fine, the next Niagara Falls.

The end of Fast Furious 7 - yeah, I know that had more to do with the real world death of Paul Walker, but the exchange between him and Vin before they drove off into the Sunset got both the wife and myself.

The Crow -ending where he tells Sarah he has to go and then collapse on the grave. But that's probably connected to Brandon's death as well.

The wife and I had a discussion recently about movies like Furious 7 and the Crow where the actors died during filming. Would the movie have the same emotional impact if they had not died tragically? Not sure about Fast 7, but probably The Crow given it's subject matter.

I don't know how I managed to type that considering I was looking at the poster for reference. Silly me.

But yes, you are correct.

Good call on Big Fish. It's one of my all time favorite movies. Never gets old. Probably my favorite Burton movie ever.

Just wonderful cinematography, visuals, scenery, and storytelling.

A League of Their Own and My Girl.

To be fair... I was only 13 and coming to terms with the concepts of ageing and death.

Oh, and West Side Story... and Ghost...

Pan's Labyrinth (No! I got something in my eye). Also would consider this a punch-in-the-gut movie.

A League Of Their Own....the scene where they give Betty Spaghetti her telegram from the war department. So sad and makes me cry. Also at the end with Dottie hugging Kit and Kit saying she is gonna miss playing.

Young Guns II when Billy comes up to Chavez and sees his gunshot wound and that its over. So sad

Seeing this thread resurrected, reminds me of the fact that I keep crying at the end of Furious 7. It came out eight days after my Mom passed away, so all I could think of when Dom parts with Brian was how much I missed her. It still gets to me, every time.
