I revisited the above last night and then again this morning. I improved the back portion quite a bit. From the "Overview" on up took up too much space before. It was fine for the retail DVD
cover. Due to the reduced height of Blu-ray
cover art it just made things look too unbalanced. As such, I tightened up the "Overview" reducing the spacing between the lines. In the process I also bumped the word "obsession", the last word on the first line of the "Overview" down to the second line. The word was hypenated before. There was no reason for it. It looked fugly.
Tightening up the "Overview" then gave the "Credit Block" more room to breath. Prior I had omitted "Prints by DeLuxe®" from the end of the "Credit Block" so as to not crowd the elements to the left and right just below that line. With the extra breathing room I was able to place "Prints by DeLuxe®" on its own line as Kino Lorber did with their
cover art for this. And yes, that's Kino Lorber's barcode I'm using.
(The free online barcode generator I use can be found here. It's awesome! Under "Bardcode Settings" I set the "Image Resolution" to "300 DPI" and the "Image Format" to "PNG". When generating and downloading the resulting barcode I increase the spacing between the 2nd through 6th digits and 7th through 10th digits. I add 6 additional pixels rows between each of the numbers within each set. For the 1st and 12th digits, the ones on the ends, I reduce their height by 1/5. It's at that point I resize the image for use with the given cover art. I also desaturate the image as the anti-aliasing around the numbers will show blue in places.)
Adding that fifth line to the "Credit Block" gave me all kinds of room just below it on the left and right sides. I really wanted to increase the size of the "Rating" details and "Orion Pictures" logo prior, but as I said, I didn't want to crowd the "Credit Block" too much. With the extra room I created I was able to increase the size of those things while still giving the "Credit Block" plenty of breathing room.
The final update I made was to the two framed images to the right of the "Overview". I had all kinds of empty space between the images and the barcode there at the top. The image on the far right, the one of Benicio Del Toro was also not framed very well. I performed a quick Internet search and found a different copy of the image the DVD
cover used. The updated image is a nice improvement as is the repositioning I did. Along the way I replaced the picture frames and sharpened up both images.
So much improved overall I think. Just thought I'd share all the changes I made with everyone. Too much fun! In any event, it's there if anyone would like a copy.
