Guys i dont know if Im off topic here but what do you guys recommend for printing artwork for your blurays...

1. what type of paper works best? (thickness, quality, glossy, matte, a brand maybe as well)

Would appreciate your help on this...

you'll get a few different answers for this. it all comes down to what you prefer. I tried using Glossy Photo Paper before but found that it always sticks to the bd case. I moved to Premium Matte Photo Paper and never looked back. It's not glossy and it holds the ink REALLY well and looks absolutely stunning. But you should try a few different kinds of paper and decide what you like. What works for me may not work for you.

Use Brochure Paper

It's thick enough to soak up all the ink without getting flimsy, but still thin enough to easily bend around the edge of the case. Whether or not you go for a glossy or matte is up to personal prefernce, but I find the glossy is easier to read especially with small type.

Good luck.

One thing I love about BD covers is that they fit on an 8-1/2 x 11" sheet of paper without having to invoke A4 dimensons.
Im not really too crazy over this as long as it looks as close to the original artwork as possible in terms of paper thickness, glossy/matte look, etc....im REALLY new to this...so i dont really know what works best...thanks guys....Im doing this because some movies that I have that come with crazy added stuff, too me , stick out like a sore thumb and I like to keep my collection all uniform in the blu amaray cases....so for Example, The Notebook Set is HUGE and I DON'T LIKE IT
therefore Im looking for an art cover for it, even if its a scan of the re-release of the movie (regular amaray version)...ill be happy...but i would like to know of a good paper thats as close to the paper the studios use for the original artwork as possible to do this...

there are about 12 covers I would like to get so im starting to look around...any suggestions where...or who to ask for this? MUCH appreciate your help on this one

I agree, Brochure, gloss 98 brightness, 48lb is the best for covers, it also allows for double sided printing for covers that you want to see through the case. I just pulled out my first cover I did in 2008 and there was no sticking to the plastic sleeve on the case and it still looked as brilliant as when I just printed it. Plus it doesn't crack on the fold areas like some photo papers can over time, and is usually fingerprint resistant. Just a note, when printing on brochure paper, make sure your setting are for brochure, and you will get amazing factory quality detail on your tiniest fonts. No bleeds or blurs.

Here is another I have been working on. Not sure what to think.

I got the blood splatter brush from Vexing Art at Deviantart.com.

Thoughts?

I can see why. After trying, trying and trying to get it, I would blow a gut, throw my computer at the wall, accidentally hit my TV and have a heart attack.

No way is that going to happen. I will sit, read this thread and enjoy what you have created.

I am going to try Some Ilford smooth gloss photo paper on my Epson R1900. It may too thick, but we shall see.

Maybe move the blood splatter from the front to the back, and lower the vampire so that his face is visible.

then for the text at the bottom:They're Coming!

I dunno bout the last part but I would definitely use the cover when all is said and done.
