RebelPrince1986, have you considered numbering them via release order? Maybe have the number on the spine ala the real Criterions? I think they set is really cool and enjoy seeing them, just didn't know if you were only doing the classics or if you were gonna do the DTV stuff also. I have Nissen working on a retro VHS style Disney collection for myself and am using a spine number so I can have them in release order and thought it might be something you would be interested in trying for your covers

Thanks for the praise!

I actually debated putting Ang Lee's Hulk in the set. Originally I was going to leave it out because it really doesn't fit in the MCU. But I actually prefer the 2003 movie for a myriad of reasons. And since I was only making this for myself, I decided to include it. If I ever get to the point of creating this for others I'll let the client decide if they want it part of the set or not.

At least I didn't put the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films in here, which admittedly did cross my mind a couple times.

I'm not using spine numbers for a few reasons.

Nobody knows the status of #6-11, they may be two-movie collections, which would mess up the numbering and the flow, or they may never be released at all, which would again mess up the whole point of the numbering system.

The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under. Both films on one disc kind of ruins the flow of numbers.

Some people like to include the sequel collections, if I were to number them I would surely screw up SOMEONEs method of organization.

Some people include films like The Nightmare Before Christmas or Mickey's Christmas Carol or The Tigger Movie in with their Animated Classics... how would they be numbered? Would they need a new spine altogether? Not for me to decide.

I don't want these to come across as blatant rip-offs of Criterion cases. Inspired by them, yes, but I don't feel like I need to translate every part of their template to mine.

By not numbering them I can skip over all of the above mentioned problems and people who are interested in using them can order them the way they see fit. If you want them ordered by release year, order them that way. If you want them alphabetical, go for it.

Thanks for the kind words!

That makes a lot of sense. Loving the covers thus far, I'm looking forward to the rest of your designs.

Those are amazing! Especially Snow White, Pinocchio and Dumbo. They really look like classic paintings meeting the style of the original poster art.
There's something Fritz Lang like about the Fantasia one.

These are amazing.

Instead of the little Mickey Mouse at the bottom, you should do 1 frame per sleeve of an animated Mickey, so when you put all of them next to each other you can see Mickey moving. Like a flipbook

Thanks... I actually considered that. My other option was to do a small image of Mickey from the time the film was released so that through the collection, Mickey would evolve. But in the end, the logo worked nicer with the collection, it lost the uniform look when I started playing around with other images.

That said... here are a few more!

#34 - The Hunchback of Notre Dame

#35 - Hercules (I will fill in the special features when they are announced.)

#36 - Mulan

#37 - Tarzan (Again, I will fill in the blanks when the information becomes available.)

Spines #1-5 & 34-53

Has anyone done a cover for the 4 film Ninja Turtles collection? The original cover art from the package is pretty bad but consistent I guess with the other 4 film favorites collections.

I tried a search but I am terrible at those. I think I ended up displaying every thread that mentioned turtle but couldn't find my answer.

By the way, you artists that make these are incredible. These covers are beautiful. There is some insane talent here.

As far as Kubrick goes, you read my mind. It's something I've been working on for awhile and plan on finishing up soon.
