(hat in hand, eyes averted)
Are there plans yet to bring any of Elia Kazan's films to BD? I do love me some Gadg, and though I'm sure it's far too early in the product cycle for there to be any truly exciting news, I have to ask. AFAIK Warner has the rights to Streetcar and East of Eden, so I don't expect them anytime soon...but I believe Sony has On The Waterfront. (Side note: earlier talk of Belgian brews finally motivated me to get my local package store to stock Lindemans; whatever we watch for our Friday night movie tonight, we'll be livin' la vida lambic. ![]() |

PaidGeek add me to the list that would love to see this at some point. In fact right now I'd love to have matching PS3 standalone BD burner either via USB 2.0 or over the wired ethernet.

This is for Paidgeek,
I noticed a white dot in the lower black bar and the very bottom of the image while watching Surf's Up the other day. At first I thought it was a dead pixel on my projector, but I confirmed that it wasn't. It is the only title I've seen this issue with (even Spider-Man 3 doesn't have it). Is this an authoring issue or something else? It is consistently there when I play it on my PS3. Thanks! |

I just posted the following over at AVS... This is not any sort of watermark. I checked the disc and there is an authoring issue with the porcupine menu graphic. If you bring up that graphic with the pop-up or main menu, you may see some pixels that are not cleared at the very bottom center of a full pixel display. Since the lit pixels are in the matted area between with the 1.85 picture and the 1.77 screen you will not see the problem if your display is overscanning (typical). The pixels can be cleared by bringing up the game and then returning to the feature. Sorry for any inconvenience. |

This is for paidgeek:
FYI - a similar thing happened with my Sony BDP-S1 player and the SPHE title Big Fish. When I brought up the popup menu, it would leave some of it behind overlaying the image of the movie. It always used to happen. After one of the firmware updates that fixed a lot of BD-J problems, that issue went away. So I always thought that it was just a firmware/Java issue. Are these 2 anomalies related? |

Not only do they “have” it but, they oversaw its two restorations (one in 1992 [in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art] and again in 2002 [in collaboration with the Cinetech] when it got a 4K scan.

Question for Paid or any other insider who might know.
We all know about the seamless branching that Warner is doing on their Return to House on Haunted Hill. And while that is cool in pausing the movie and giving you choices so that your movie experience can be different, has anyone talked about giving you a choice of selecting 'Random' at the main menu and then just sitting back and letting the machine randomly branch at those points so that you can enjoy a real movie experience that is different each time, instead of pausing and then having to grab the remote and pick a branch. |

Hey Paid...
Is Adaptation on the radar for a future BD release? We've seen Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine on HD DVD from universal. It's always nice to know that Columbia has the rights to what is arguably Charlie Kaufman's best film! Thanks again! ![]() Last edited by Ben; 10-13-2007 at 04:08 AM. |

paidgeek:
I have several Sony titles on my wish list:
I know that you can't leak too much information (and you may be as vague as possible), but . . . Have your seen any of these masters? If so, promising? Will any be coming out next year? If you say yes to any of these titles I will be a happy camper! ![]() |
