I agree 100%. Spreading FUD is certainly no better than starting FUD for others to spread. And I agree with posters above that our Insiders shouldn't waste their time responding to questions related to FUD being spread by shills such as rdjam.

When one is no longer a major player in the game, I guess one regurgitates old *Glory
Days* posts because he has nothing new to offer being “retired”.

That “crack” should have sufficed-- if you are familiar with the postings of rdjam….from which appears that rumor has originated from.
However, for your and others’ reassurance…………..

I don't know of any Blu-ray studios going neutral.

I don't know of any Blu-ray studios going neutral!

Got it ?

Now, allow me to get ready to go into work and breach another WGA picket line because although I am supposed to be neutral concerning this situation, I am starting to lose my patience and sympathy for the *writers* – given what other *writers* endure without striking or complaining.

If any members here are interested in my further thoughts on this strike, let me know, and I’ll try to address the subject again with more elaboration later today or over the weekend.

Personally, Im familiar enough with corporate speak to also listen to what is not said in statements. so for me, the crack didn't suffice. but this did:

Sorry …….....

So this my wife talking to me in a hypothetical conversation in one possible future: "so, let me get this straight, you got fired because you disclosed confidential company information" "and you did this because why?, to satisfy the raging curiosity of a group of movie fanatics you have never met?" " and for this, we are now selling our house and moving in with my folks?" "oh, okay, no really, I still love you honey...." "so tell me about that life insurance policy again...."

Gota run guys, later.

Posted this in the insiders thread over there.

Do the said insiders not realise that “IF” and that’s a big “IF” BD was to fail (this is not my belief) then they are by virtue of slagging off said BD format also slagging off people who have invested in a format and would be the same customers they would hope to sell their HD-DVD players to in the future.

So Penton...can you PLEASE be less obtuse and just tell us whether a BD studio is going neutral...

Seriously, I'd be interested to hear you elaborate on the writers' strike if you get a chance.

Thanks, as always

Perhaps you should ask him why Blu-ray would be replacing the entire DVD infrastructure if the demand for it is modest?

If the the need requires the entire replacement, then the demand will be equivalent to DVD, which means huge.

Penton, Love to hear more on the strike. As most, I sympathized with the writers. I find it odd that two sides can't meet to come up with a reasonable solution unless one side is being unreasonable.

I just visited the site and given the fact that they wouldn’t allow any coverage of comments by Michael Burns, Vice Chairman of Lionsgate on their forum but, they do allow garbage speculation like this to be posted, kinda exemplifies their neutrality…………….
