Good people.
As well as Uni for that matter, just a little misguided currently.
yeah I can definately see that....hopefully they can re-direct their attention to where the money is going to be...

BD is making..more money than HD DVD...but they still have a ways to go where BD is making serious strides....

this week was just the beginning of the march IMO...

Penton, I think you're always on Target and you sting like a BB.

paidgeek, I just saw a bit of the EPK of Surf's Up. How possible is it to include as a PiP (at 480p/720p) the full movie as the dialogue was recorded in the studio? That would sounds like it could be a fun idea.

Done and done!

News on the Spider-man seem pretty scarce. There is some mention of a European release but very little in North America. Can we expect the trilogy this year?

Also, the X-box 360 has many rumors, anecdotes, whatever about failure rates. The PS3 seem to have almost none. Is there any comment you cangive us on the PS3's failure rates? I've had no problems with mine by the way.

Default BD+ and HTPC playback

Can an insider speculate? - paidgeek?

Since the AACS compromises came from software playback sources, will BD+ discs be playable w/ PowerDVD and WinDVD?

They will play back. If not, then a update to PDVD will come out to support it.

Dropping HTPC support will certainly help BD+ to 'last longer'.

Of course that would exclude the Sony laptops from playback... so I imagine that PC playback will be supported...

Would LOVE to hear it in Dolby TrueHD!
I agree, it would be a nice addition to the Blu-ray line up, but I have to correct you...this title was released on DVD (1997) before re-release on Superbit (unless I didn't understand your post). It's a two sided disc FS/WS, I remember because I wish I would have waited for on the Superbit version.

Well it's already "next week."

So, here's a hint................
It regards some retailer news.

Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline ...probably Thursday.

P.S.
One of you true film aficionados tell me who said that (excluding the probably Thursday addendum that I added) and in what movie ?

Well, I certainly want it - mostly because I don't want to purchase a scaler to do the vertical stretch for my CH setup. Plus, though its value might be moot, I'd still like to toy with ffdshow type processing, assuming the cpu is up to snuff of course.

Thanks gents.

Hmmm...very interesting. Perhaps we'll see the rumored Target strategic changes, or better yet, something about Best Buy. If Best Buy starts stocking BD in stores and just relegates HD-DVD to online only, that would almost be as good as Universal going neutral...almost.

One of my favorite in my list of classics. I think it's Redford's best movie. This movie always captivated me. I used to own it on VHS. Would not mind geting it on Blu-ray

Seeing more large brick and mortars do that would be better than Universal neutrality. Such would likely force Universal to go neutral and likely help studios like Paramount that want to support BD only to justify the move to their fans.

Nothing is set in stone, but I think SM fans will have happy holidays.

I don't have any data on PS3 failure rates, but I have not heard about any of them breaking. They are very well designed, particularly where heat management is concerned and that is critical to product life and reliability.

It's possible, but I don't know if they recorded it.

Yes, they will play provided that they appear to be valid versions of the application.
