Nice! So if one were to do a search on Facebook to check these out, would the keyword search be baseball memorabilia auctions?
I only ask because i try to avoid social media all together.

'Memorabilia' or 'Breaks'

The group I really like is called "The B.A.R."

I have been watching baseball since 1976. This bickering that's going on might just make me stop if they cancel the season. It's very hard to stomach when so many are suffering and they are crying over a few hundred million dollars.

I know everyone wants to pile on the owners here probably, lets face it they seem to be the only party here who realizes that the people and in turn ratings and attendance is not going to be in line with the absolutely insane contracts the players have been receiving. They have a much bigger stake and much more risk running a franchise vs. just being a player "employee"!

At this point I would like to see a total blow up and some changes be made to the sport, I think the owners want this too but the players are the ones resisting. And yeah I kind of do think this sport would be one of the few that would be perfectly ok for any current star to walk away for good and not miss a beat.

The one thing that the uninformed fan doesn't understand is how the salary cap works. The NBA and NHL are able to resume soon because of this. Their players salaries are dictated by the cap.

With MLB, no cap means bickering over what they assume to be their fair portion. The players want 82 games, which at this point is impossible. They will not be able to start until at least August 1st. With the playoffs slated for October, that would leave a possibility for 61 games if they have no off days.

MLB definitely could use some modernization. The lack of the salary cap is something that damages the sport for sure, but the MLBPA would never allow that to happen.

BE STILL, MY HEART.

MLB owners proposed a 76 game season, with 75% of prorated salary for everyone, and no draft pick compensation that penalizes a team if you sign a free agent (including ones who already signed, like Gerrit Cole).

Make it so! Let's do this thang!

Smh… 75% prorated salary, for playing 47% of the season, lol.

Not to sound too dramatic but tomorrow is a big day for the future of MLB. The players have to accept the 76 game plan or it will probably be bumped to 50-60. If they don't come to agreement by the end of the month then you can say goodbye to 2020. That would also probably cause 2021 to be in peril too as the CBA expires at season's end.

The MLBPA counter offer appears to show their lack of willingness to engage in reasonable dialogue. They want to end the season on October 11th??? That would push the playoffs into the middle of November. C'mon MAN!!!

Ownership will now look to organize their 48 game schedule. According to the March agreement, Manfred has the authority to do this. It will be interesting to see if the players fail to report and thus blow up the season.

To me it looks like ruining their sport and then all taking major salary reductions because they are all no longer worth what they think they are worth.

Great to hear Manfred say yesterday that there will be a season. He does not want to invoke his authority yet but with the MLBPA acting petulant and not up with times we live in, he may have no choice. The owners sound like they will give one last option to agree on and then go from there.

Heavy sigh.

I was saving a couple of Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards for opening day. I figure because fans will probably be banned from the stadium, and because I wanted to use up my restaurant gift cards (got burned by Souplantation), that it would be a good occasion to use them.

Neither the players nor the owners will win in the court of public opinion given that this is a time of mass civil unrest, mass unemployment, and something about a virus causing a global pandemic. The 1994 strike took years to rebuild (some would say the Sosa-McGwire home run race was the catalyst) but there were fans who just kind of quit the game.

I become less excited about this season, or any season, by the day.

After seeing the players actions of not even engaging in good faith negotiations with the owners, it leaves no doubt that there will be a players strike after the 2021 season. You can absolutely take this to the bank.

At least we will have a couple of months this year and hopefully a full season next year. After the 2022 washout, MLB will have less interest than the late 70's NBA and early 80's NHL. Heck, the MLS might even become more popular!

Manfred said less than a week ago, during ESPN's live coverage of the 2020 MLB Draft, that he was "100 percent" certain baseball would be played this year, but negotiations between the owners and the union have completely fallen apart in the days since. "It's just a disaster for our game, absolutely no question about it," Manfred told ESPN's Mike Greenberg on Monday. "It shouldn't be happening, and it's important that we find a way to get past it and get the game back on the field for the benefit of our fans ... I'm not confident. I think there's real risk; and as long as there's no dialogue, that real risk is gonna continue." Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times adds that MLB sent a letter to the MLBPA on Monday stating that there would be no 2020 season unless the players waive "any legal claims against the league." What a mess.

Well after hearing Manfred today, if the players do not come up with some sort of counter proposal then it looks like 2020 will not rest in peace but unrest in turmoil. This is an absolute dumpster fire and behavior that I would only expect from those enrolled in pre-school.

If there's no agreement by July 1st there probably won't even be a season.
