Arrow HDR Demos

May be old news to some of you, but I have to share for someone who has not seen it

http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=145

Watching this via usb stick on an LG OLED in a pitch black room is the most glorious thing I have ever seen from a flat panel...

Yes, it's quite stunning. There are numerous demos that look really good. Samsung Chasing the Lights is another good one.

I didnt see it on that site, can it be downloaded somewhere? Trying to build a good demo library on thumb drive.

These are the YouTube channels you need to follow:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCve...GBI5t9g/videos

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxq...8dLQqGg/videos

https://www.youtube.com/user/3motiongmbh/videos

https://www.youtube.com/user/089fernsehen/videos

You need a Samsung TV or Chromecast Ultra to be able to view them in HDR, though.

My Samsung isn't giving me the "HDR Video is Playing" message, nor is the little HDR icon in the info bar present. Still, even without HDR, it looks very good...

Which TV do you have? I should have specified that only the 2016 Samsung TVs support YouTube HDR.

Do you have the latest firmware though? You need firmware 1154 or later.

Yup, all up to date.

Not a big deal, you might be right that it's just for the SUHDs. Either way, the video looked really good. Just didn't get the usual HDR heads-up. Oh well.

The notification doesn't pop up with the built in youtube app. Just pause the video and it'll either have an HDR icon at the top next to 4k or it wont.

I use YouTube via the UHD player (8500), in case that makes a difference. I have my player wired to my router to avoid lag/buffering annoyances, so just makes more sense to watch through that instead of via the TV's app.

You need to use the TV's native app. The K8500 player doesn't support YouTube HDR.

Thanks for the links. They will come in handy when I get my hands on the Chromecast Ultra, it's the only reason I'm gonna buy the damn thing for.
