If your next question is regarding seamless branching, well, seamless branching can be very time consuming to build and thusly expensive. Lastly, I have zero to do with setting prices on Blu-ray home media. So, I would say if you feel it’s too expensive and can’t wait for future discounts, just don’t buy the title. Problem solved. |

It goes a long way of letting the film breathe and giving greater insight into the characters, especially Silas. It was worth the purchase to me. Especially with the free Angels & Demons ticket. |

VARIETY's all so subtle and straight way of creative writing:
VARIETY REVIEW: Angels & Demons Science and religion collide, commingle and eventually reach a state of peaceful coexistence in "Angels & Demons," a follow-up to "The Da Vinci Code" in which director Ron Howard conspicuously gives top priority to the story's beat-the-clock thriller elements. Less turgid and aggravating than its predecessor, this cleverly produced melodrama remains hamstrung by novelist's Dan Brown's laborious connect-the-dots plotting and the filmmakers' prosaic literal-mindedness in the face of ripe historical antagonisms, mystery and intrigue. |

RealD charges movie theaters a pretty hefty annual licensing fee per screen to cover their operating costs. The company can't survive off hardware sales alone. Dolby doesn't charge any annual licensing costs for Dolby 3D. Dolby is a far more diverse company with more sources of income. They don't need to pin a licensing fee on Dolby 3D. You just buy the processing hardware and reusable 3D glasses and you're set. The downside with reusable glasses is the theater must have extra employees working on the clock to collect 3D glasses after the show, get them cleaned and redistributed to other customers. That will make a theater manager's payroll numbers look not as good as usual and he'll be up for the typical butt chewing session from the higher ups. That's how it goes. It's also not exactly cheap or even feasible at all to install industrial dish washing systems in many theater locations. Most theaters aren't set up for that. The payroll situation and dishwasher requirement are two big factors why RealD continues to be well ahead of Dolby 3D. |

I've been around... lurking mostly, though I have posted a few times (and ranted as well) in The Digital Bits thread since the last time I posted in yours... and that was mainly due to the "Star Trek"/"Battlestar Galactica" discussions that got me "riled" up!
I would have been around more, but I was busy at work leading up to Christmas (due to Christmas), and then I had to start working on a project immediately after... and after that, I was exhausted... and spent what time I had trying to catch up on things that needed doing, shows that were filling up the DVR, and just trying to catch up on my rest... until I found out that ANOTHER big project was looming... and that I would have do even more of the things above in anticipation of the new project... until I injured my bad knee, healed, injured it again, got the flu (or some sort of virus), recovered, finished the project, got an ear infection, and am just now starting to have some more free time to post on message boards. I'd love to say I got a lot of money out of those projects, but mainly just added stress! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thankfully, I think things have quieted down some, and I hope to get back to watching some Blu-ray movies soon... hopefully with new speakers and an AVR capable of "lossless" audio if I can get the money together.... We've been in drought for years now, and though we never got it as bad as the Atlanta area (Lake Lanier, etc... ![]() ![]() This year, particularly in the last month or so, we've gotten SO MUCH RAIN, we have a surplus... and unless we have a really dry Summer, we may end up keeping it. A lot of areas here in South Georgia, North Florida had some flooding, but thankfully nothing like the floods of '94 and '95. I live on a high spot, so no danger here, but the rain saturated the ground so much that my Uncle got his tractor stuck in the yard, my Mom got her Jeep stuck in the yard, it made it so difficult to mow in many areas, that the grass/weeds took over a good portion of the 20 acres very fast... making it very snake/mosquito friendly... and let me tell you right now, between the tall weeds, standing water, and mosquito spray, the mosquitoes have mutated into half-mosquito/half-horse creatures... in fact, if Sony EVER wants to do a film about killer mutated mosquitoes, tell them to come down here as they could save money on their SFX budget! Areas around me have also had to deal with a considerable amount of tornadoes... one which was deemed by The National Weather Service as straight line winds until the Sheriff sent The National Weather Service multiple photos of multiple funnel clouds going through town, and one that ripped through a city in my county (Parrott Tornado), thankfully with no casualties, but a ton of damage... including one mobile home in which a woman was sleeping.... only to awaken to the fact that she had no ceiling and no walls... and all her furniture was gone ( ![]() Though the farmers are once again complaining, I'm quite thankful to be missing some of this weather North Georgia and others are getting the last week, as the showers yesterday, today, and the 80% chance of rain tomorrow night are fine, but we still have areas just now drying up enough to mow! Adding to out recent discussion involving the red camera it seems that finally some really significant movies are released that have been shot with the red camera:

After about the 11th minute, I fast forwarded the match by 15min. increments to the end to spare myself the misery. The best part of the match? < The brunette they showed in the stands after ‘twinkle toes’ scored on that laser shot free kick.
So, who do I root for today, Chelsea or Barcelona? I’m tempted to go with the Spanish as Chelsea just doesn’t deserve to be in the final with the defensive mentality they exhibited in the 1st leg, even if they are ultimately successful in the end. P.S. Hey Torsten, I am taking sides now ^. |

You may have to wait several months as the yellow Mustard and Thistle have grown very high this year (way over my head even) plus, the brush is essentially as thick as a jungle and the girls like to play hide and seek with me thusly making a photo-op right now nearly impossible.

Bit of a conundrum, innit? My struggle is between Barca for Titi and for the not-Chelsea and not-United factor and Chelsea for the stick-it-to-UEFA all-English-final factor. It's lose-lose, though, so no worries- we can't really go right. ![]() |

![]() I think any true football fan (bizarre English Platini-hating aside) would want a Barcelona-United final. Hopefully tonight's game will be a lot better than last week's, and hopefully Barcelona can put in another exciting attacking away performance like their 2-6 thrashing of Madrid on Saturday night ![]() Cipher, I think your dream is over for another year. Liverpool lost their chance of the title when Benitez lost his reason with his "FACT" dossier back in January. |
