It would be outstanding if the studios could supply this type of information. |

![]() ![]() I’m referring to IIL which is hoped to be a universal media interchange format acting as a digital replacement file for the 35mm film source to provide a known quantity or *standard* if you will, for exchanging and tweaking images up to 4k resolution and 16 bit pixel depth. Digtial camera images could transform straight into the architecture. You see, the problem now is that there is some confusion and technical translation failures encountered when sending material between different post facilities to work on. With a universal media interchange format like IIL, it would eliminate or at least reduce those missteps by unifying all the current diverse practices under a consistent set of transforms and methodologies which would ultimately, at the end of the process, produce a single graded digital master having a dynamic range of 1,000,000:1 and from which you could produce properly corrected versions of whatever release format, whether it be release film prints, Digital Cinema or HD deliverables -essentially standardizing further compressions for their respective limited latitudes and differing gamma/contrast/saturation/luminance requirements. Click on IIF License Terms here……. http://www.stcatp.org/ With regards to *standardization* in the consumer electronics industry/movie studio realm, I think the guys and gals have done good work in establishing the 3D spec for Blu-ray, also taking into consideration backward compatibility, with paidgeek being one of the point men on the project. ![]() |

I think that many folks, not just in the SPHE organization per se, but from all of the majors would argue the type of esoteric information you desire would only be of true (appreciated) benefit to a tiny percentage of Blu-ray movie watchers and that the time/effort involved to make it happen wouldn’t be worth it, esp. if it involves diverting people/resources from doing other things. Quite frankly, there is so much to do and so little time to do it, esp. with some studios loosing personnel this year. ![]() Nevertheless, your request is noted as it’s an excellent goal to aspire to. ![]() |

Penton, just have to say i f***ing hate pikey's, but i love the blu ray of snatch! If anyone hasn;t seen this, it is probably one of the best british film's of the 00's, if not generally. Featuring one of the greatest villain's since Vader it just keep's getting funnier and well worth a viewing!

There won't be anything public until it's in stone and finalized If you don't have a Samsung or Mits 3D-ready DLP, you're definately going to need a new one for 3D however. There's simply no way to sync the glasses otherwise. |

![]() Marty can be very emotional ![]() ![]() Do you think this set would sell in the Blu-ray format? http://www.film-foundation.org/commo...on=&ThisPage=0 In other words, is the timing now right, or do you think 99% of the installed Blu-ray users still are only interested in watching sci-fi, superhero and mystic titles? Did anyone at all on this forum watch this flick on Blu-ray? https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ar#post2486891 |
