Stacey, which color grading system/toolset did you (or your colorist) use for the finishing? Looks good.
It was done using Scratch 5.1.

Agree Penton?
Sounds good to me, but I’ve personally never seen that motion picture and really don’t plan to.
Actually, for one of their family live action titles. I think the Fox folks had the most candid Press Release of the year just from this past Sept. with this first introductory sentence…

“The premium movie experience business in the home continues to grow, as Blu-ray sales move beyond just a fanboy base. Sell-through and rental sales for the industry has reached a combined total of nearly $1 billion for the first half of 2010. “

Merrick, as an aside, this is one fine female in a dramatic role ….http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619/...news/#40046123

[Show spoiler]She just ran out of racetrack this time.

P.S.
Seems the Nightly News video “Zenyatta’s quest to be undefeated racehorse” is no longer available . It was a nice piece on the background of the horse. I hope at least some of you got a chance to view it before it expired.

Rita is not just a pretty face …..
http://www.amianet.org/events/theree...peakers09.html
and this past summer she gave an excellent presentation entitled “From Silent to Sound: A Studio’s Transition in the Years 1928 – 1931.

Whilst Rita was doing her thing, Grover was poised to participate at this conference http://www.amiaconference.com/

In terms of the speakers (not the moderators, i.e. Bill, Josh Zyber, etc.) at the local Blu-Con conference, I found it a tad disingenuous that Jim C. would make a statement something like ‘2D -> 3D conversion should only be used for converting library titles’…. given this factoid of AVATAR post production information (see paragraph #2) -

Good to hear you commissioned a dedicated color grader rather than a general purpose platform. I’m certain you’re well aware of Assimilate’s long support for your acquisition device.

I think there was a pre-release for 5.2 in either September or last month.

I can imagine that LoA will be even more work going back to the OCN, from what I heard that is the first time ever that feature film shot in 65mm had its negative scanned in 8k - the other 8k projects were all done with wetgate IP's. I remember reading about various problems with the OCN of LoA through the years so I can see how this would be a huuuge effort. I am sure it will worth it though and when you are done with it I am considering to first go and see the 4k version in a 4k cinema - this should be a very good showcase for 4k

I hope that Sony will release it on DVD?

With other restorations like the Budd Boetticher movies from Columbia we at least got the DVD boxset.

That one of the year's crappiest movies is dominationg great catalog releases sounds like a BAD thing to me.

Crap selling = more crap output.

I dont see it that way at all.

No, I rarely ever watch pro soccer in the MLS. It's difficult enough for me to keep up with the Premier League games in England which I have an interest in.

Meanwhile, off to see the restored METROPOLIS tonight, with live symphonic accompaniment. Hopefully they'll sneak in allusions to Queen songs.

I think we’ve come a long way at least in terms of mainstream awareness/promotion of HD software media. For example, the announcer doesn’t say ‘For the first time now available on DVD’ nor, ‘For the first time now available on DVD and Blu-ray’ but….

I had no idea they had lost the original audio for WSS. I thought MGM usually took care of those things, especially for something which (at the time) was second only to Ben-Hur in awards.

Oh, that's a damn exciting video... God bless the unsung that worry about the more esoteric restoration of vintage surround mixes.

I see you’re a Soul Surfer at least on YouTube.

In another sense of the term - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1596346/

In the meantime, the book is a worthwhile read, esp. for those battling some current malady or set-back which they may perceive as a trajedy…..http://books.google.com/books?id=NGC...gbs_navlinks_s
