ugh.
Someone on another forum speculated that it may have become another Best Buy timed exclusive (they often follow a similar pattern of cancellation/disappearance and then surfacing again). I think that's a fair bet.

Hi Penton,

I see that Damages season three has been released on DVD in region 2 and 4 in October.

Any clues for a region 1 release date, or maybe even a Blu-ray release?

Thank you

b.t.w., so did Jim Cameron.
Placentia has this nice city park (can’t recall the name) off Kraemer which is a great place to walk your dog…..except for the resident geese, at least the last time my wife and I did so when we were in the area.

Problem is, those birds nip at your arse (and that of your dog ) on the trail that winds around the lake if you don’t keep up the pace. Geez, I realize that it’s their home and humans are simply visitors or users of the park but, damn, I’ve never encountered such mean spirited water fowl. I think the people of Placentia must be in great shape because one has to either run or do a very brisk walk in that park to avoid being pinched in the butt by those long necked squawking creatures…..at least the last time I visited it.

Next chance you get to talk to him, ask your buddy if those overly territorial water fowl are still there. I nearly pulled the trigger on a restored Penton JackPiner which a guy was selling, who lived just across the street from that city park but he did some things to the bike that I just personally didn’t like, so I never did buy it from him.

It's a Bestbuy exclusive… not cancelled.

Of course, if it were up to me, I would announce Blu-ray titles only 2 weeks or so prior to their actual release to help minimize the *internet anticipatory anxiety* when plans change….

Show and Tell time.

I'm looking for a specific videoclip from the Sony Professional site but, I think it may have expired.

One moment. I'll see if I can crank it out by 11:30 which is when I must get back to work.

See… http://steadivision.com/steadiseg.html

Then watch this YouTube clip for a demo (at least in 2D) of the device using a 2D camera -

Thank you.

I assume SONY will see better Blu-ray sales now that the pricing is becoming more attractive. I remember Damages season one was near $90.00 msrp for 13 episodes when it was released almost three years ago. Now I see Justified: The Complete First Season will be releasing at $49.95 msrp for the same number of episodes, and a very reasonable $21.95 at Amazon.

Default The Fed Has a $110 Billion Problem with New Benjamins

3D C-notes are giving printers a headache. Just teasing guys.

Full article here...

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/The-Fe...&asset=&ccode=

Quote:
A significant production problem with new high-tech $100 bills has caused government printers to shut down production of the new notes and to quarantine more than one billion of the bills in huge vaults in Fort Worth, Texas and Washington, DC, CNBC has learned.

Initially scheduled for release in February of 2011, the new bills were announced with great fanfare by officials at the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve in April.

At the time, officials announced the new bills would incorporate sophisticated high-tech security features, including a 3-D security strip and a color-shifting image of a bell designed to foil counterfeiters.

But the production process is so complex, it has instead foiled the government printers tasked with producing billions of the new notes.

HER... And how much of a schlepp to Studio City would that be from there? It seemed to take eons (and I'm used to miserable Toronto traffic...)

Amusingly that video is shot terribly, and the sheep/actors doing the gig in the background are kinda silly, but that's a great little video, thanks for sharing. Speaks exactly to my view not only of 3D but, fankly, for most things - doing it in 3D isn't the hard part, doing it well in 3D is a challenge. The soundbites referencing the like of Toland are a bit more rehearsed than I like, but he's clearly a really bright guy, and, spin aside, it's quite a illuminating description of both the challenges and possibilities of the process.

This could have been at least a solid transfer and they erased it all away

Welcome to the club - better quality in catalog and classics shall hopefully be our reward - and we can still RENT the stinkers in case we need to watch them

No spin. Toland's use of wide angle lenses (24mm.) with 2D (like in Citizen Kane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tt840nlog0 )
- would be more contusive to 3D filmmaking than blurry backgrounds due to long lenses.

That's a fact.

I think all presentations are a bit “rehearsed”....no? Additionally, after his short spiel, Buzz opened it up to the audience for any questions…of which were completely spontaneous.

I really hope you’re not referring to that couple discussing things in the background at about the 6 min. mark of the clip.
