Yeah, we will have plenty of new title announcements, new hardware announcements, the possible appearance of HD music on audio-only Blu-Rays, and so on. Lots to talk about.

I should have known that of all people, Penton and Bill could come up with a way to comment without commenting. We do, after all, have legendary insiders here. In ancient days, Vikings and many other cultures known for heroic warriors would create epic sagas about the deeds of their greatest warriors. Someone should undertake the Epic of the Blu-Ray insiders.

That is absolutely classic Bill!

Too late. I think Michael Bay already posted that question.

Penton,

Do you have any other info about the nature of the next "nail"? Especially if you were referring to Toshiba's upcoming announcement, do you know if they are in talks with other companies like Universal/Payamount or Sony or is it simply an internal decision?

The next nail should be coming from rental or retail.
There will be no mercy until the Death Certificate is *official* public record.

Penton,
Thank you once again for posting on these forums. You really are appreciated!

..At this point an announcement of capitulation from Toshiba would be welcome. Makes you wonder though, when will this "flesh wound" turn into a race to announce abondonment? Things appear to be speeding up, post WB.

I've begun enjoying it when people say: "We're comitted to HD DVD." It's like saying "I'm gonna screw you over as soon as this conversation is over."

I was thinking Toshiba's strategy as comparable to a certain suicide bomber I once saw on youtube talking about "premature detonations" & such:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uwOL4rB-go

By the by, who's left at rental that hasn't gone blu yet?
