I plan to watch the match this weekend.
It will be a real pleasure for me to see that kind of soccer quality in HD, as all the Premier League games I receive thru my cable provider are in SD.
If your cable provider is like mine (Cox)... Every Wednesday, and sometimes Tuesday, ESPN will have Champions League games throughout the season. Something to set the DVR to...

I was stunned when ESPN2HD switched from their usual matted 4:3 upscaled SD to real HD when the players walked out for the final. And as a longtime United fan, that wasn't the first time I was stunned

I really hope ESPN keeps using the HD feed next season for the CL, SD just doesn't compare for football (either kind).

I don't even know how interested in Euro 2008 I am since England isn't in it. Henry isn't enough for me to root for France. Meh I am just not that excited.

Thanks for the 'flowers'. Ocasionally I have an urge to write a longer piece because the matter is very important and I become frightened of very bad developments in presenting the film heritage to the public on 'video'.

It's in Austria and Switzerland. And about England not being there... Who cares? It's not like they played a role in the European Championship, well, like, EVER!?

Rob Reiner! Cool! I love the Princess Bride! He really treated William Goldman's script well.

Yeah, Marc is a real cool guy. I was able to sit in on one of his sessions back in Septemeber. He was mixing a small independent film featuring Donal Logue.

FilmMixer is Marc Fishman?? Was Marc the guy who posted that thing on AVS saying that DD+ was basically identical to lossless? I know that guy.

He was actually very humble and down to earth. Even asked me about my kids/family. When I told him I had two daughters aged 5 and 7, he said give it a few more years and I can enjoy watching The Princess Bride with them.

I was very impressed with the way he communicated what he wanted to Marc and the other sound mixers. I think communicating what you want to convey is one of the more important aspects of being a successful director.
Ah yes. One of those films I'll buy on blu immediately. One of those films I'll have purchased on VHS/DVD/Spec. Edition DVD/Blu-Ray.

Can't wait I think we quote it around the office nearly every day.

Where’s theLion?
In the meantime, do any of our European members know if that place depicted in Where Eagles Dare can be visited by tourists?
