Oh, how about Jurassic Park with all the hairy dinosaurs?

Wicky, can you give us a studio or decade at least?
The Hobbits has hairy feet

Like I said I could be wrong, but I swore a few people mentioned it...

King Kong is hairy as well and would be another "big" release people are looking for.

Here's a longshot guess "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?"

Also, Beauty and the Beast (it has a hairy main character)....

Wicky,

Could it be Planet of the Apes? I remember some talk about them a few months back about it, when Charlton Heston pasted away. Don't remeber if it was for this year or '09.

Now that's a good guess ^^^.

I woke up thinking it's gotta be King Kong. But it could be Monster's Inc. too.

My eyes keep going to the newspaper portion of his clue. Because it's in the same sentence as orange slices but reading newspapers has nothing to do with The Godfather. Does it?

Other than Citizen Kane, I can't think of any movies that deal with newspapers...other than Ron Howard's The Paper. Because we all want THAT on BD!

Penton,

With all these new titles in the works, where is all the FUD about disc production shortages now?

Thanks,

Jason

Bill Hunt has actually mentioned these as coming this year... which makes sense (not only because of Heston, but) since this year will be the 40th Anniversary of the original.

As my DVD copy is NON-Anamorphic, I'm very interested in (at least) the original, but at Fox's catalog prices... I'll probably be waiting on a sale. I'll probably do the same for the Bond films (though I might pick up one or two)... and I'm going to have to wait and make up my mind on "The Godfather" films later...

I'd love to see a BD optimized King Kong (extended cut maybe?) with lossless audio.

I remember Bill (Hunt) bring it up a while ago. With everyone guessing "monkey" movies no guessed this one, and it being rumored a while ago, I thought I'd throw it out there. Never was a big fan of the movie, but, only saw it when a was really young. Should give it another try.

I completly argee with you on the Bonds films (may just get Dr. No to start). I'm hoping my wife will get me the Godfather movies for my birthday in November. I started dropping hints last night, fingers crossed

A secret memo just went out to Kosty and Mike Morel. Due to overload with Paramount and Universal now on BD, the BD50 "machines" are breaking down regularly. Expect major cancellations of titles any day now.

Oh, and Fox is set to announce they are dropping Blu and supporting Toshiba's super upconversion exclusively any day now...

EDIT: I should add that the above is sarcasm meant for entertainment purposes only.

I'm sure that will give Lee Stewart at AVS an additional 30 posts a day to write about it.

I really hope it's King Kong. I thought Max vaguely hinted in another thread in the general movie release section that Universal had plans to give us a fully loaded Kong BD release.

http://www.releaselists.com/BLURAYNorthAmerica.html

They have the Planet of the Apes movies as coming out in November. This site also had the Godfather date of 9/23 listed several days before the announcement.
