Update for mhafner………….
Michel, I reread the SMPTE journal article from last autumn. It is not easy to make the connection between this paper and typical telecine transfers or scans because the topic is camera color filter systems. I'll have to look for other papers that are more specific to this topic.

Lol, I assume you clicked on their menu.
Believe me Wicky, it’s the places that don’t have a menu that you must be wary of.
Those are the best places, where you pay a flat fee and get omakase kaiseki
Where the chef truely proves his mettle, and he's free to use whatever strikes his fancy at the market that day. Check your PMs for a place with that BTW

It's just the casual lunch at $50-60 a plate

I think that hobbyists became much more emotionally involved in the format war than the typical industry folk……exception being one “retired” person.
Thanks, that's what I figured. I am really glad in the end that said "retired" person and M$ didn't get their greasy fingers to far into the movie industry.

IMDB says 3-perf Super35
Super 8
and HDCAM SR

So yes, HD.

I don't think anyone would dare try to put something on IMAX that wasn't. I can't imagine how bad it would look

Penton, I just have a general question. Not trying to start a riot, just interested in the numbers.

Blu Ray has sold 9 million movies SI. Sony has stated that they have pressed 150 million blu ray discs? Are those all PS3 games?

Just seems like a very lopsided number.

PS3 games, demos, movies, free copies, whatever. I'm not sure if that 9 million figure is simply domestic either

Actually, the irony of this is that whenever the film does become available on Blu-ray, you will probably be getting the true Director’s intent rather than what theatrical audiences are seeing in the reformatted IMAX version as Marty never wanted this presented in IMAX but, in this case the actors (The Rolling Stones) won over the Director and got the thing blown-up.

I don’t know if the individual cameramen are listed on IMDB however, the list reads like a Who’s Who of D.P.’s………..all under the supervision of Robert Richardson.

Trivia time…………….What person assoicated with this film was the #1 Contributor from Hollywood for the 2006 Election Cycle? Few people know the name but, he’s also been a major donor to many progressive issue advocacy groups.
Hint, his company co-financed this film.

Trivia #2………………………
Since 3D seems to be so much in the news these days, suppose Jagger had demanded the above film be captured in IMAX’s 3-D format. How much do you think for instance, an IMAX Solido 3D camera weighs…….roughly?

A. 100 lbs.
B. 200 lbs.
C. 300 lbs.
D. Given Marty’s physical stature, if the thing ever tipped over and fell on him, it would surely cause significant bodily harm to a great film Director.
E. Answers C. and D.

I'm gonna go on a wild guess here and say E.
Are wild guesses allowed?

As they should be

My biggest has been the wimpification of theatrical sound because some people find it "too loud"

Sure.
Because you are correct.

In fact, not just wild guesses but, all Wild Things are encouraged on Blu-ray……………….

Would it be Steven Spielberg.
