He was one of the initial investors of the format, so yeah, he definitely prefers DTS audio. Notice that there is only 1 Sony title with DTS HD MA, and that happens to be Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". Jurassic Park was the first title to use DTS audio.

It is a rather amazing coincidence that Uni decides to reveal its future audio plans almost day and date with Dreamworks’ ability to be free to shop itself around in regards to formal negotiations. |

![]() I know "The Spirit" is not Rodriquez but did you get a change to see the preview? This looks like another Miller winner. |

I’ll probably never forget it because the first public screening of one of the 70mm prints from the restoration done jointly by Fox and the Academy Film Archive was shown in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater about 6 weeks after 9/11. The print was pristine. |

If you have the power, I'm going to be in SoCal for Comic-Con, I assume How the West Was Won is going to get a Cinerama run for the new DVD (of course, ater I leave *cry*), and just have them shove Patton in the Goldwyn again for me ![]() Those 2 and Ben Hur in full 70mm anamorphic pretty much complete my top 5 "wish I could see it in the theater" movies. The last one is "Yamato no Towa ni" (Be Forever Yamato), which like Galaxy Quest 20 years later has a huge reveal where the film goes from flat to scope. |

This preview? I'm skeptical. It seems (even though there's no film footage) too much like Sin City. The colours, narration. hmmm we'll see.... I think (Penton will know for sure) Sin City is actually ready on BD, they just haven't dated it yet. It was being demoed at IFA in 2007 so it can't be long now. (I think it'll be out in the UK before the US though) |

OK, PM, I got your PM.
Question for the group... Have any of you had issues with PM's? I just got a popup 3 days after the PM was sent. Penton that is why I did not answer. |

Do you normally stay on the front page or on the forum-side? If you're on the front page, the upper-right-corner of the page shows if you have a message but you don't get the pop-up telling you about it until you go to the forum-side. I have it configured to send e-mail as well though and it even includes the PM in the e-mail (a nice feature since a lot of forums just send a message saying you have a PM but don't include the actual PM).

owa...yes, I did go to the forum...in fact two of them. I also looked and saw I had 0 PM's. I was looking as I was expecting an answer from Penton.
Anyway, maybe it was a computer glitch. ![]() |

In July-ish ? ? ? ? (The Lost people have been speaking about it recently). Two definite things to do while you’re there. 1st – From the Convention Center walk north up the sidewalk past the Marriott, thru Seaport Village, etc. and get your arse on the harbor cruise that takes you around San Diego Harbor. (if you walked to “Anthony’s”, you went too far, turn around and go back about 200 yards). It’s a pleasant cruise where you get to see a lot of things like the Navy ships currently docked in port, where the Seals train, babes sunning topless on sailboats, etc. 2nd – Walk east several blocks from the Convention Center to the “Gaslamp Quarter” and have dinner at Croce’s Restaurant. Ingrid (his wife) opened the place as a tribute to her late husband (Jim Croce ![]() Everything on the menu is excellent. Give ‘em some love ![]() P.S. If you go to Coronado to visit the “Del” or walk along the magnificent beach in the morning and see a dog running with/chasing a local Seal team………..that critter probably be mine, as we’ve got a summer place there…….and I like to keep some of dem boys in shape. |
