Is there really a need for more nails? Oh, the horror of it all!!!

And by the way, I would have enjoyed the Monty Python parrot skit more if the color of the bird was RED and not BLUe.

Nah it would be more like them shoving the coffin into the incinerator, turning on the gas and pushing the pilot button.

Heh! Not surprised...

Hmm... I wonder what retail/rental chain will be the next to fall in line? I'm a little thirsty, though, so I might have to ask my friends down the street, the Waltons, if they've visited the local quickie mart for some soda recently...

[EDIT: Just my guess, I have no where near the insight of even the forum regulars on this board.]

So I guess I have to update my signature once again

btw even AVS's Mark Rubin called it a day.

"time to recognize the obvious and move on...

We all have had enough of this format war: it is hurting AVS and HDM: we (AVS) should get back to being a technical forum"

"So yes, from my standpoint it is over: we should work toward getting AVS back to a gentler, kinder place where folks come for technical advise"

Do you think it might be helpful to AVS to recommend Blu Ray as their choice for HDM much in the same way Best Buy are doing?

Mark Rubin: "Yes."

Talking about domino effect...

Can somebody please find me a tasty, metaphoric clip of rats leaving the sinking ship. Very fitting considering the A-mans departure in Q407.

Penton:

With all the rumors of late regarding Tosh, Para, Uni, DW--in your experience as an insider, would you believe that these HD DVD supporters communicate with one another regarding any potential new/renewed support of Blu, or would they keep their own behind-the-scenes actions to themselves and not tell one another what they are planning in the coming months?

Thanks!

Well if he or one of the other mods are truly interested in making it a kinder, gentler forum with more emphasis on *technical issues*, might I suggest that they stop deleting my posts on AVS when I simply provide a link to the same *technical* post on this forum because I don’t have the time to copy and paste the damn thing to multiple online forums.

For instance, I typed up this…………….
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...d=1#post559128

and posted a link to it on this thread of AVS where there would be no historical record of such unless mhafner quoted me (you can’t find my original post there on that page of AVS)……………………….
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...&postcount=330

Not that I’m blaming mark in particular for this deletion of my *technical* post but, it strikes me as rather a bias action given the fact that the last time I checked, Ben Wagoner continues to post a link to his blog in his signature (which is essentially an advertisement to/for Microsoft endeavors and products) which is a violation of the latest AVS rule change….unless they changed them again.

Wow, the Wal Mart announcement was kind of a let down after the Hollywood Reporter article.

Penton, congratulations. I know you have worked hard on this.
