WOOOOOOOOOOOT!
Thanks a lot Penton! Do you think this will speed up the process of Toshiba/Paramount/Universal joining Blu-ray?

Watch them be eerily silent until they drop the bomb (finally.)

Anyone allowed or have any ideas on ballpark time frames for this? The articles sure make it sound like it's rather imminent.

Best to all.

he already said it was not going to be a Studio, and hinted at a retailer. So now that we have a confirmation, i think once this news hits the HD DVD fansites and HDD, we will see a lot of sad HD DVD fanbois.
Soon we will hear Tosh and Para and Uni make their own responses and/or announcements.

I'm going to say what I think. I don't think Penton was talking about wal-mart, I think their is a different nail coming too, that he was referring too.

1. Wal-mart makes decisions for Wal-mart, very seldom do they let others influence a deal on what they sell in their stores, other than brokering a cheaper price deal. This decision was most likely made internally with nobody outside the company having knowledge of it.

2. Penton said the logistics wern't in place, he said it wasn't happening today, i believe whatever it was wasn't happening today, so WM couldn't be what he was talking about.

3. Wal-mart seems to be based off BBY and NFLX making this a quick decision, not something that many would know about.

Assuming Toshiba folds on HD-DVD, how soon after this assumption do you think it would take Paramount and Universal to actually produce Blu-ray movies?
